Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

The tables and chairs had been scattered around the lawn - some near the food, some not, some in the shade, some not - and the food was ready for anyone who wanted to come by and greet the new people.

Enjoy your last picnic where shirtlessness will be enjoyable until next summer, folks!

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Nina, who'd grown up on school cafeteria food, laughed at that.

"Are they ever?????" she wondered, grinning at the other girl. "But this is certainly a spread for today!!!! There's just so many options!!!!"

"Well, they need to provide a lot, or they'd be out of food before you guys finished finding your nametags," Yang laughed, patting her stomach. "I'm only on my fifth plate, and I'm not the only growing teenager around here."

"I did notice a few of them," Nina agreed, giggling again. "Just, you know, like, one or two!!!!!!!"

She glanced at the food again.

"I don't know that I could eat five plates of it though!!! I'm Nina," she added, smiling.

"Hey, Nina, I'm Yang," she replied. "So what brings you to the wondrous shores of Fandom Island?"

"I was told it was a summer training intensive camp. I'm gonna yell at my dad so much."

Oh!!!! Well, Nina wasn't going to just tell a stranger, no matter how friendly, about her real reason for being there!!!!

"Dorm renovations at my other boarding school," she said easily. "Like, so totally inconvenient, but they had to close the dorms entirely so here I am????? Did your Dad know what this place is like????"

"Oh yeah, he knows," Yang said wryly. "He thinks it's going to help me develop 'teamwork' skills or something. Be more 'well rounded' in my education."

Because if Yang had her way, she'd just be in classes about killing monsters all day.

"Sucks about your dorm, though. Hopefully we're not going to be too much of a change for you."
