Phys Ed Part 2, Tuesday

No matter what Tony tried, the danger shop looked like a picturesque creek with dappled sunshine peaking through the foliage.

And a big ol' pile of fishing poles. This could only end in tears.

"So, apparently we're reaching you how to fish?" Tony said slowly.

Steve looked extremely perplexed as well. "Fish doesn't come from the fish monger?"

And, somehow, Tony looked even more confused at that. "A what?"

"The fish guy," Steve said.

Clearly these were the fishing experts you were looking for, folks.

"So we're going to take those poles and put them in the water and...get some fish and pay them very nice compliments and put them back so they don't turn evil later on," Steve said.

Yep, this was your class.

"I'll look up a YouTube tutorial on it," Tony announced. "I'm surprised there's no PSA on it."

"Like Nick Fury knows how to fish," Steve snorted.

"Fair," Tony granted him. "But, okay. So. Everyone grab a pole and please, please, please don't hook anyone. And we can... figure this out."

Hopefully someone would remember to tell these two city boys about bait.

It seemed to Astrid that each class was going to be even harder and harder to go to by the end of the week, but, honestly, she was mostly just feeling glad they weren't doing laps for once. She'd done enough running over the weekend and, even without the association she dreaded coming up, she was pretty sure she twisted her ankle or something out there in the woods. She should have probably gone to the clinic to get it looked at, but she figured if they were running laps, that would be a convenient excuse not to.

Seems like it was a non-issue anyway. Fishing...fishing she could do. She didn't know much about it, but apparently, she knew more than her teachers, something she found a little amusing, the first thing she found even remotely amusing since Saturday, so that was...kind of good. Fishing was in her blood, though, right? Perhaps it would be better for her with nets and spears, but she found a fishing rod that looked a good height and weight for her, then looked around toward the ground, then unexpectedly at her teachers.

"Bait?" she asked.

There. Astrid at least knew about bait.

"...did you bring any?" Astrid asked, even though she felt she already knew the answer.

"...have you two really never been fishing before?" Astrid asked, because part of her thought that maybe, just maybe, it was some sort of weird act or something, but no, it was definitely genuine and she found it weirdly fascinating. Maybe she was just eager for a distraction, though.

Fish came breaded and for dinner on Fridays, okay. Steve kind of loathed fish.
