There was a giant stage in the middle of the park today. Are you worried, people whose names were about to be called?

Good.

"Today, inspired by the public service announcements you see in PE class," Anakin began, "you lucky chosen ones will get to write and perform an informational puppet show with sock puppets you create yourselves! Since you were so good at the instruments last week."

They were not that good at the instruments last week.

"You will be paired up and then spin the wheel of topics--" he waved his hand helpfully at a giant wheel in front of the stage, "and then perform before all of us. The second most impressive skit--by whatever metric I choose to use to measure that--wins the fish."

He waved his hand and the fish, now resplendent in a steampunk top hat and jetpack, flew into his hand, still warbling the Beastie Boys. He winced slightly. "Maybe by the time you pick it up, it will have stopped singing 'I'm a Little Teapot' directly into your brain."

He didn't sound that optimistic.

"I'm sorry, I don't, umm, think I got all that?" Kathy said. "Could we maybe try that again, but, err, slower?"

"Meep meep meep meep," Beaker said, gesturing to the wheel.

Maybe Kathy would like to spin?

"Thank you?" Kathy said, hoping she was reading his body language correctly. "I'll just--right."

She gave the wheel a spin. "How to Apologize When You Were Evil Last Weekend," she read aloud, shoulders slumping. "Oh. Great."

At least it was something she had experience with?

"Meep meep meep?" Beaker asked sympathetically.

"Yeah," Kathy said, not even realizing she'd understood that. Well, sorta. "More than once, even." She ran a hand through her hair. "I'm hoping I've gotten it all out of my system at this point."

The island being the island, though, it wasn't really her system she needed to worry about.

Kathy reached for the sock, sighed, and put it on her hand. "I guess we should decorate these? Should they be little versions of us, or...?"

You know, someone different so it wasn't quite as obviously therapy?

"Oh, okay," Kathy said, nodding like she agreed. "Good point."

Nope. Not a clue. She was just going to watch him and see what he did.

"Meep meep meep meep meep," Beaker said, bobbing off to retrieve socks that could, if you squinted, sort of turn in a Beaker one and a Kathy one.

And an Anakin one because Beaker had made an amazing Anakin cookie, okay, even if no one else appreciated it.

KARLA HAD! KARLA WAS SWEARING UP AND DOWN THEY HAD BEEN ROBBED.

Kathy started collecting clothing because their socks couldn't run around naked, regardless of who they turned into. And something that looked like a tie, because if they were making them-puppets, Kathy was going to represent Beaker's well-dressed style.

...Ish.
