Fun with Magic | Monday, 2nd period

Class had been handwavily asked to meet on the lawn again today, and Bob was there rubbing his hands gleefully. "Well, I understand this was an eventful weekend. So now, we all get to have a bit of fun."

All of you, just Bob...details.

"As it's rather a hot day out," not that Bob cared, "and I'm given to understand water is a preferred coping mechanism, here is your magic for today." He waved at a box nearby, which held…

"Magic wands. More or less. These have only one spell in them - they create globes of water. The globes will travel at a speed and direction dictated by the wand when they are created." He conjured up an illusory wand and demonstrated 'flinging' a water globe.

"Think of it as a learned skill. I suggest you learn it before you make yourself wetter than your opponents."

Welcome to magical water balloon lacrosse!

...try not to injure yourselves.

"Okay, fast in one direction, and then..."

And away the water went, much more impressively, this time.

Norman looked over at Bob, smiling faintly.

"That was okay?"

Yeah, kinda.

"To... fight like that?" Norman looked maybe the faintest bit bewildered. "... Okay, I can try. I'm not really much of a fighter, though."

Norman blinked at that reminder, feeling faintly silly about actually needing it. He'd gotten so wrapped up in the lesson that he'd forgotten the whole point of today's actual class. And so, with a sheepish smile and a little nod, he used the wand to conjure up another ball of water.

"Right," he replied. "Okay!"

And then he was looking for a classmate to single out, and running off to play.
