Fun with Magic | Monday, 2nd period
Class had been handwavily asked to meet on the lawn again today, and Bob was there rubbing his hands gleefully. "Well, I understand this was an eventful weekend. So now, we all get to have a bit of fun."
All of you, just Bob...details.
"As it's rather a hot day out," not that Bob cared, "and I'm given to understand water is a preferred coping mechanism, here is your magic for today." He waved at a box nearby, which held…
"Magic wands. More or less. These have only one spell in them - they create globes of water. The globes will travel at a speed and direction dictated by the wand when they are created." He conjured up an illusory wand and demonstrated 'flinging' a water globe.
"Think of it as a learned skill. I suggest you learn it before you make yourself wetter than your opponents."
Welcome to magical water balloon lacrosse!
...try not to injure yourselves.

Talk to the TA!

"Remember the streams and flows of magic?" he prompted, nodding toward one of the bubbles of water as it flew off.

He reached a hand out and gingerly ran his fingers over the surface of the liquid sphere, smiing faintly. And then he pulled back and reached for something else, for the flow of magic around the sphere, getting a feel for the way it flowed in order to keep it aloft. In his mind's eye, he painted a picture of what it was he could feel, of the currents that he couldn't feel with his hands so much as his being.
He always worked better with a visual touchstone, after all.
Re: Talk to the TA!
Bob watched him, nodding. Norman seemed to have a good handle on the visualization part of magic, from what he could tell. "Now push it," he encouraged.
Re: Talk to the TA!
It floated away from him, a little!

Norman balked for a moment, glancing up at Bob sheepishly.
And then he reached out again, pulling the water pack to himself, and concentrating for a moment on just passing it back and forth, from one hand to the other.
Re: Talk to the TA!
Instead he smiled and nodded. "There you go. Now all you have to do is move it fast in one direction, then let go."
Re: Talk to the TA!
And away the water went, much more impressively, this time.
Re: Talk to the TA!
"There you go."
Re: Talk to the TA!
"That was okay?"
Yeah, kinda.
Re: Talk to the TA!
Hey, he believed in setting high bars.

"Right," he replied. "Okay!"
And then he was looking for a classmate to single out, and running off to play.
OOC!
Today is my 11-year anniversary here.
