Cultivation and Gardening, [6th period]

Zhaan was poking at a planter containing several purple flowers and several rather weedy-looking things. She looked up when the class came in. "Once you've begun to grow things, in a less controlled environment than one pot, you'll inevitably find that other things encroach on the territory. Some are harmless. Some, like Purple Loosestrife are invasive and can destroy the eco-system they take over." Much like the Peacekeepers. Zhaan refrained from scowling.

"There are ways of dealing with unwanted plants." Beheading. Torture. "They range from the simple method of removing them," she demonstrated by grabbing one of the purple-flowered plants and yanking it from the box, "to using destructive chemicals," Her tone of voice was frigid. Obviously, chemicals and plants were a bad idea, "To the introduction of natural predators."

She flicked a bug off one of the leaves and smiled. It might have been a nice smile.

"I expect you all to try not to kill each other over the weekend. I'd recommend not going crazy, either." With that, she wriggled her toes in her bunny slippers and went about removing the purple looosestrife from her planter.

"By crowding them out, depending on the plant, their natural predators may not be in evidence to keep them from over-growing their boundaries."
