Today the students found themselves in the Danger Shop, where a podium was standing at the front of a large room full of reporters. "Today we're going to have a practical exercise in diplomacy," Anakin said. "For a vast majority of your life, you are not going to be the lead diplomat in a room. You will, however, be the one who probably briefed the head diplomat, and upon your head will the anger be heaped if he, she, it, or they get embarrassed, even if it's not your fault."

And sometimes your boss turns out to just be super evil, but that was a scenario for another time.

"Your boss is about to address a group of reporters," he said. "He has not read your briefing notes, trusting instead on knowledge he gained from Force knows where. He is about to make a huge, intergalactic meme-worthy ass of himself." He smiled and began the program. "What do you do to stop it from happening? Or do you just let it play out?"

Who in no way based this scenario of of the news this week. Really.

At some point, Anakin would be getting a picture sent to him of two baby boys sitting up, one crying, and one looking really annoyed about said crying.

Hi, babies!, Anakin wrote back. What's wrong? Teething?

Probably. But I took his toy away so we could leave the apartment and now I (and his brother) must be punished.

And then, He’s going to be my problem child. I love him.

Well, obviously this was your fault, Anakin agreed, laughing. Why didn't you just take the presumably enormous and noisy toy with you like a loving mother would?

Because I was taking them to training and I’d look REALLY bad if I lightsabered said toy “by accident.”

She had this motherhood thing down.

Oh, that's an entirely different level of shrieking. I probably would have heard it from here.

Kid’s got lungs.

Then, How are things there?

Relatively quiet other than a student who just mentioned someone from his home galaxy who worships Darth Vader. So, that's a thing now, apparently.

That person’s on a watch list or something, right?

It seems he's in some sort of authority position. Have you ever heard of a Kylo Ren?

Doesn’t sound familiar. When are they from?

I haven't narrowed it down yet. Hopefully far enough down the line that Vader's reputation has been horribly mangled? Maybe?

That does tend to happen, Jaina pointed out. It’d be nice if there was an easier way to figure out where everyone’s from.

We should make Ben put together a flow chart or something, Anakin said.

Or just get everyone together and interrogate them so everyone's on the same page.

'Interrogate' was a bad word, Jaina.

Or we can get together for beverages and not scaring them up front? Anakin suggested.

Ooh, a sneaky interrogation! I like it.

I'm stretching my diplomacy muscles again this semester. It's fun.

First, we should do this. Just say when. Second, diplomacy.

Still one of those things that confused her.

Two weeks? We can tell the rest of the family, too. Haven't see you in too long.

I should be able to make that. There are a bunch of people I haven’t seen in even longer. Wait, was the last time I was there homecoming?

That can't be right...is that right? In that case, MUCH too long.

I’ll talk to Jag. Time flies when everything’s insane, apparently.

I know the feeling. I glance over and one of these days Juliet will be in college and I am not at all ready for that.
