Angela is still a little fuzzy this morning. She might have had one sangria too many at Caritas last night.

But she is a library aide, she will aid library-goers through the fuzz. Because that is what she does.

Angela leaned over the counter. "Hi, Faithful. Need help?"

Faithful did an elegant jump up on to the counter and tried to look innocent as he mewled at Angela.

Angela looked at Faithful, puzzled for a moment.

Then: "I promised you tuna, didn't I?"

"Meow." Faithful nodded in the affirmative.

Angela tilted her head at Faithful. "Not feeling like speaking English today?" she asked him. Then: "It's not here. I mean, it's in my room. Can I give it to you at Jaye's party tonight? Will you or Alanna come to that?"

She has set the math textbook aside and is doodling in a notebook.

No, she's not writing sappy poetry. Move along.

Parker came in and started doing her Russian mid-term. "God. Why did I think I needed to know a language with this many cases?"

Angela gawped at the paper. "I have no idea. You ... think Chekhov loses something in the translation? Or something?"

"I think maybe he gains something in translation. I remember I had this vague idea that yes, I would be able to negotiate my way alone around Moscow if I studied this language." She face-palmed. "I'm so much more likely to get into a diplomatic incident now, it's not even funny."

Parker pushed her hair back and smiled ruefully at Angela. "Hey. How's your day going? I heard you sing at Caritas last night. Very cute."

"You can always offer them vodka and they'll forget however you offended them?" Angela said.

She blushed a little at Parker's question. "Yeah, that's what a pitcher of sangria will do to us. We seem to be having a cute week. Which is really nice."

"True. Or diamonds. And maybe if I can just perfect the phrase, 'I am American and very sorry I speak minimal Russian', they'll listen long enough to get a free drink." Parker sighed and corrected верить to верим, then grinned. "It is nice. Jaye drank to you guys on the radio, for the 'aww' factor."

"Hey, I'm learning demonic dialects," Rory replied as she came in after Parker and peered over her shoulder. "So talk about hard."

"Can you even pronounce those?" Parker wondered, re-arranging her books and pushing Little Women out of the way for her Russian grammar notebook. "I mean, I have a hard enough time with this, it sounds like I'm gargling rubles. A demon language-- how many vocal chords do you need for that?"

"You're definitely thinking of being a Watcher, then?" Parker glared at her mid-term, then muttered, "Two pages, then a break with Louisa May Alcott."

"IS Mr. Giles helping you with Watcher stuff?" Angela asked. "I had a hard enough time with Spanish freshman year."

She is back in the section of books on psychic phenomena, trying to find a book about ghosts that doesn't seem entirely new agey.

Library period 4, 3/23

She's finally attacking some actual work, sorting through the file of library card applications and setting aside the ones for students who have dropped out or disappeared off the face of the earth.

The size of this pile troubles her.

Library, lunchtime, 3/23

[chasingangela]

If another aide comes in -- and quite possibly even if one doesn't -- she'll probably walk to town during this break. Errands, you know.

Library, period 5, 3/23

She's moved on to happier book, applying library jackets to the new books that have come in.

She wonders who keeps ordering the romance novels.

Library period 6, 3/23

She is wiping the fingerprints off the counter and praying she didn't forget any homework for music class.

Library, period 7, 3/23

[chasingangela]

She's grabbed her notebook and book bag and dashed off to music class. She hopes the junk food is good today.
