"Hello to you all," Hannibal said when all the studensts were there. "This is Beginning Gourmet Cooking Techniques, and I am Doctor Hannibal Lecter. Welcome to a new semester. In class this term, we will be discussing a wide variety of things, from boiling water to managing a good sauce. For starters, however, today is for introductions. If each of you would, please, let us know your name, your prior experience with cooking, one thing you hope to learn from this class, and any allergies or sensitivities that you may have."

He gestured at the table next to him. "Also, I invite you all to eat." There were coffee, tea, and thick, homemade hot chocolate, along with hot sandwiches: spiced lamb patties with nutty garlic sauce, and cranberry grilled cheese.

"So." He nodded at the first student. "Begin."

"Summer Smith," Summer offered with a smile and a small wave to the class. "No sensitivities or allergies. I've taken quite a few of Dr. Lecter's classes, so I think I've got some pretty good experience so far." Practically an expert! "My specialties are tacos, macaroni and cheese, and completely not disgusting and totally delicious jello molds." They were abominations. "I guess I'm just hoping to expand my repertoire and be a better chef. Also, it's my last semester and I'm really glad this is a cooking class instead of a first aid one again."

Because that shit was hard.

Alluka leaned over and asked, curiously, "What's a jello mold?"

"You know what?" Summer said with a smirk. "I'm glad you asked!"

And she really was. She absolutely loved spreading the Gospel of the Jello Mold, and was happy to potentially disgust or delight another impressionable mind.

"Jello is this substance made from gelatin, which is not quite liquid, not quite solid, all wibbly wobbly, and, with a jello mold, you shape it into something like a cake or whatever else and put stuff in it and you eat it. You know, I'm not that good at explaining. It's best experienced visually."

So she whipped out her phone and pulled up her photos so she could present to Alluka a hologram of her last creation.

"This," she said proudly, "was my masterpiece for my News Years party. Shrimp, whipped cream, apples, a lime base...what could be better?"

About a million and one things, really.

"Welcome again, Summer," Hannibal said. "I'm pleased to have you, and I hope we can indeed expand your repertoire. If nothing else, to different sorts of gelatin."

There were gourmet abominations, too. He might just teach her kholodets.

"Ooooh!" It sounded sarcastic, but it was way more genuine than Summer would have let on. "Do you think I could handle it?"

Could Fandom and the universe at large handle it?
