Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

Over on this part of the school lawn... yeah, it was still chilly. Stupid winter, doing its winter thing. But there were plenty of chairs and tables for people watching, feasting on warm foods and drinks, and generally attempting to meet the new folks!

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"It's a little overwhelming," Molly said with a half smirk. "Wasn't expecting to end up a hundred years in the future at a school full of people that aren't even all from the same Earth as I am."

"The cocoa is good, though."

"Well, you have me beat there, at least," Bobby had to admit. "I'm only from like, fifty years ago." Though he'd been living in this time for a while now, so did it still count?

He was just gonna... stare wistfully at that cocoa, Molly, sorry. Hot drinks didn't tend to stay that way very long once he got ahold of them.

Molly noticed his stare and held out her cup. "Did you want a cup?" she asked. "It'll keep you warm. At least, relatively."

"Oh no, that's fine," Bobby said, maybe a little too quickly. "I'm fine!" Really! He wasn't chilly or anything, at least.

"Okay," Molly said. "This is actually my second cup. Girl took my other one. So, I've learned to share. If you change your mind."

She tapped her nametag. "I'm Molly, by the way. Molly Squidpiddge."

"Bobby Drake," he replied, holding out a hand. He thought about adding that he was, in fact, the younger one, but figured if she knew some version of him it would have come up already.

Molly shook his hand, hoping her cocoa had warmed her hand up to a normal seeming temperature. "So you get to learn all about telephones that you can carry around in your pocket and boy bands and everything too?"

It hadn't, but then... neither was Bobby's.

"Right?" Bobby said. "So weird. But I've been living in this time for a while now, and I promise you get used to it."

"Well, I'd hope so. Thankfully no one has said anything about eight out of ten students going mad and being locked up at the local sanitarium," Molly said. "So, odds are good that we'll end up okay, eventually."
