Tip could do without the chocolate snow and the gremlin carols, but waking up this morning to a cup of Cioccolata Calda under her pillow was amazing. It was just like her mom made, and Tip poured it into a thermos mug so she could sip it nice and slow and savor it.

Which was nice, because there was kind of a lot of clean-up going on after the research fest the last few days had been.

It wasn't that Breq had found she liked chocolate, but she did think it should be eaten when there was so much of it around today. This was the reason her fingers were chocolate stained.

"Hello Tip," she said as she entered the library. "Are you ok?"

One of her shoulders hurt a little. It wasn't a major injury by any means, but it was uncomfortable.

"I'm fine," Tip said. "Hid inside like a good little girl, just like sensei told me."

That last was heavy with sarcasm. Tip was still quite put out at Kanan for what he'd said to her on Friday.

"Sensei? I don't know who she is, but it was probably good advice."

Breq leaned against the desk. "Unless you wanted to use that gun, but that might not have been a good idea against those who had gone insane though."

"I never want to use the gun," Tip said. "That's why I was training in the first place. But just because I'm not a trained fighter doesn't mean I'm useless. I've stopped alien invasions! Practically by myself!"

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply that you are," Breq said. "I think this was the kind of fight where you have to be prepared to use a weapon like that, though. With some discernment, perhaps."

She paused. "Why did you choose to follow her advice? I've never seen you as someone who would let anyone else stop you from doing what you think is right."

Tip rolled her eyes and shrugged. "I don't know. 'Cause going out in it would've been dumb."

And because she'd felt the need to sulk.

"I had to kill an evil version of Sidon in order to save him. The real Sidon."

She looked at Tip. "It was odd to see these other versions of people."

"There was an evil me last year," Tip said. "She was a giant statue. My roommate and I smashed her with bowling balls."

Breq had been long enough in Fandom not to be surprised.

"Bowling balls make quite good weapons, I suppose," she said. "Against the right target."
