"Right," Anakin said, "it's almost December, which means that the island will soon be forcing us to bathe in eggnog and wear stupid hats, so before that starts, let's have a quick discussion about ethics in holiday shopping, and in general dealing with your fellow living beings under rather stressful situations. And why it's still not okay to take a parking space when you see me waiting there with my blinker on."

Anakin had had a tough weekend.

"Today's lesson is simple," Obi-Wan said, straight-faced and dry-voiced. "This is Anakin. Do not be Anakin."

Anakin shot him a sour look, then reached out to poke him in the side. "I've gotten much better."

...that was not an endorsement, really.

"Don't be rude. Don't turn it into a competition. If you cannot get the item that you wished for, buy something else. Do not start a fist fight."

Ahem.

"Don't get into a fight with the Mall Santa about how his sleigh doesn't obey basic rules of aerodynamics," Anakin added in an undertone. "Right. We're in the Danger Shop, so we've set each of these scenarios up as live-action demonstrations in patience. If you do everything well, you are rewarded with a overly expensive coffee drink of your choice."

"Or a soft drink, if you prefer," Obi-Wan added gently. "Good luck."

You are in a car (that you may or may not know how to drive, la), patiently going up and down the rows when Hark! A space opens up halfway down the row. But another car is coming the other direction? What happens? How much horn honking will be involved? Will there be punching?

Ahsoka, no. Don't accelerate, then swing into the spot with a screech of brakes. Even if you are capable of doing it without damaging any other cars.

Her narrative blamed Anakin.

Clearance rack, very last non-ugly sweater in your significant other's size. Another person is grabbing for it too but they have, like, eight other sweaters in their arms! Are you reasonable? Do you yank it and run? Tell us how it goes!

Ahsoka was tempted to Force pull the sweater to her, then considered who she'd actually be likely to be buying one for.

Sorry, Anakin, you'd look great in this eye-sore of a sweater.

The line is taking forever and everyone's slowly boiling to death in their winter coats. The person at the front of the line appears to be paying in nickels and this person just cut in front of you, explaining that they are very busy and shouldn't have to wait.

Do you break Obi-Wan's rule and hit them? Do you passive-aggressively bitch on Twitter? Do you do both?

"You will go to the back of the line and politely wait your turn."

Look, Ahsoka considered the fact she didn't also tell them to let others in front of them more than ethical enough.

Okay, setting aside it's a 20 dollar photo these days to sit on a stranger's lap, you're in line because it's traditional! Don't start a fight with anyone around you as you wait.*

*Anakin has never managed this. Ever.

Ahsoka was in her element around younglings, and there were a lot of distressed younglings about, which meant she didn't even realise she'd reached the front of the line for several moments.

If fake Mall security has not escorted you from the premises, collect your celebratory drink!

Anakin doesn't mean to start fights. Everyone's just so annoying!
