Creative Writing- Monday- 3rd period

"Last week I gave you a lot. Did anyone actually finish it this week?" Daria asked. She assumed Paris had, but. "If you need a few more days, that's fine, but I'll expect it by next week, along with today's assignment. And today's assignment is... I want a short story, three pages or under, from the point of view of an animal. You can of course write from the perspective of the family dog, though you're all better than that and can be more creative. In fact, I'll give extra credit for creativity when it comes to which animal you pick."

Tip hadn't quite finished her assignment (well, she'd gotten a draft done, but that didn't mean it was finished), and was quite happy to get some extra time on the assignment.

Yeah, if Summer had more time, she was going to use it. Which mostly just meant that she would think about adding or fixing whatever drivel she currently had, but it wouldn't extend much beyond thinking about it, and what she'd hand in next week would pretty much be unchanged from what she had this week.

Tip gnawed on the end of her pen as she tried to decide what to write for next week. Was it okay to do one from the perspective of an extraterrestrial animal? She'd always wondered what koobish must be thinking. . . .

Summer may have winced noticeably at the mention of writing from the perspective of the family dog. She knew that perspective well enough, thank you, and was not about to write a story about demanding where your testicles had gone of your owners, ugh.

She was going to write about a butterfly. Straight from the caterpillar phase into the beautiful end result, because, like, it was totally a metaphor about growing up and your teenage years? Or whatever.
