Creative Writing- Monday- 3rd period

"Sorry about last week," Daria said to start off the period, "my portal back here was delayed by something they called 'sentient dummies' and I wasn't going to rush back after hearing that. Though I doubt anyone really missed going to class much.

"Anyway, before vacation you had the prompt of 'good riddance.' Hopefully you still did it, especially since you had an extra week. This week's prompt is 'a cup of coffee,' and you'll only have the normal amount of time to finish it."

Summer had plenty of fuel for things she'd like to say 'good riddance' to, but, honestly, a lot of them these days just seemed a little petty and stupid, but she had one that had forced its way out of her head very effectively.

It was a story, written in Summer's sometimes rambling style, about two kids whose parents were getting a divorce, but the dad kept hanging around and pestering them until finally the mom totally lost it and went on an angry tirade that pretty much ended in her whipping out a gun out of no where and shooting him in the face, ending with the mom glaring through the smoke and saying, "Good riddance."

...and here she thought she'd gotten over most of her issues about her parents divorce. OH WELL. This was cathartic!

Paris's story centered around a girl from a ridiculously twee small town and her obsession with coffee and the frankly insane people who came in and out of the shop where she bought it.
