Sex Ed, Friday, First Period
"Hey guys, I'm not going to keep you for too long today, since there's a lot going on this weekend," Sam said, passing out a small packet of papers to everyone. "But I really wish I'd had more classes like today when I was sitting where you are, so we're going to go ahead and spend some time talking about sexuality."
"As you can see from this packet, there are a lot of different ways people are attracted to one another, and pretty much all of these ways are perfectly acceptable. If you prefer partners of the opposite sex, or the same sex, or you prefer your partners to be cisgendered, or you don't care one way or the other - all of these are valid categories people fall into. Also, the kinds of people you're attracted to can change over time. I definitely thought I was a hundred percent straight when I was a freshman, and then I met my boyfriend so..." Sam trailed off, laughing. "It's okay to change your mind. It's okay to do things with people you might not normally date, to try something new and see if you like it. On the other side of that, it's completely okay to not date, or not want to do anything sexual with people, or only want to get intimate with someone when you've gotten close to them." He sighed softly, and gave everyone a sheepish smile. "I hope it went without saying that whatever your feelings are about sexual partners, it's okay, but I wanted to make it clear. That said, if you have any questions about this topic, go ahead and ask, and I promise I'll be as honest as possible."
