Today the shop classroom is a regular shop class room. Fancy that.

"As some of you might know, Ms. Gilmore-Danes is expecting a bundle of joy some time this summer. Today your assignment is to build a gift for her baby using the glittery tools she made for us. Please make sure that anything you make will be safe for a baby."

Xander's got a laptop, unlimited access to wood and power tools, and a lot of motivation to find a project that doesn't let him think about anything but measuring once twice and cutting twice once. He starts working on a blanket chest - though he ruins his first attempt at a base by letting the router go wild, ending up with pieces that look less like they're arched, and more like something with really bad oral hygiene took a bite out of them. That's okay; there's more wood, and it's not like he was going to finish this one in one class-day anyhow.

He does take the sparkly ribbons off his chisel; he's really not in the mood for glitter today.
