Creative Writing- Monday- 3rd period

"Last week your assignment was to write a story based on a photo. Of course you have a chance to read them if you want," Daria said, not bothered if no one wanted to.

"This week, you're going to challenge yourself a little more. I want you to think about what you think is your weak point in writing. We all have them. Do you have tropes or words you always fall back on? Do you have problems with plotting? Are your characters two-dimensional?" asked the cartoon. "I want you to think about that, hone in on your issue, and go to town on it. If you over-structure plots, write some absolute fluff. If you lean on a specific trope, then you beat that horse until it's dead. If some some reason you think you don't have something to improve on, think about something you hate that people do when you read, and then do that yourself. If what you turn in next week is good, then I'll consider it a bonus. But this week, you're going to write against your instincts, and see what you come up with."

Summer had only written one assignment for this class so far, technically speaking, so she had no idea what went against her usual type. Probably something super serious and not at all fun, so she tried to imagine how Peridot would try to describe a situation or interaction.

Or just texting people on her phone, but it totally looked like she was making notes on ideas, right?
