How To Get By In A Hostile World, Thursday
"Hey, kids."
That was Atton, leaning casually against the wall at the back of the Danger Shop. "Welcome to Introductions Part 2: Rolling With The Punches."
He waved at two doors at the end of the wall. "Go."

Rolling Those Punches - B
You're supposed to make an easy trip from the space station your ship is in down to the planet below. However, as soon as you try to start up the ship, alarm bells start going off outside - and the hangar bay doors start closing, while a voice announces you're being impounded.
Should you make it out, a few fighters will start firing on your ship. Try and make it down to the planet's surface without dying horribly and Atton might be vaguely impressed.
Re: Rolling Those Punches - B
And yes, she died horribly before making it down to the planet's surface, but she at least managed (mostly out of luck) to pull off a kind of flashy maneuver that got two of the fighters to crash into each other and then spin off into a third, so yay?
Re: Rolling Those Punches - B
So. Upside: she wasn't totally unfamiliar with how to operate a flying vehicle. Downside: the flying vehicle she was familiar with was Slushious, her family's flying car, which had been designed by a creature who had only the barest passing familiarity with cars and had made do with whatever he happened to find on the dashboard in order to make the controls.
Upside: she was reasonably sure that on this ship, setting off the horn wouldn't make the hood catch fire.
Okay. So. Strange spaceship. Goal of trying to get to the planet for a space station. Girl who had taught herself how to drive at age eleven by nailing soup cans to the bottoms of her church shoes so she could reach the pedals.
She could totally do this.
Somehow, alarms going off and people shooting at her only made this whole situation feel that much more familiar and comfortable. . . .
She was definitely going to die horribly in this simulation. She was also going to make it remarkably far before that happened. Mostly, it would seem, on pure gumption and luck.
Re: Rolling Those Punches - B
She didn't die horribly, but one of the engines was definitely on fire when she landed.
