The first class was meeting in the computer lab, and Kitty had sent out emails about that, and also put a note on the door of the classroom so anyone who maybe wasn't up on 2017 Earth tech would still know where they were.

"Hiya, guys," Kitty greeted them. It felt weirdly good to be dressed like a teacher when her last couple weeks had involved things like replacing flooring, and lugging damaged furniture around. "Welcome to Computer Science. My name's Kitty Pryde-Barton, and I don't really care what you call me. I've got some pretty extensive experience with programming and building computers and dealing with all sorts of systems, and I'm going to teach you guys as much of that as I can in the next semester. My rule, though, is that we only use our powers for good. If I find out you're using these skills to rob a bank or whatever, or bully someone, or whatever, you'll get detention along with the potential criminal charges. Now, most of the time you'll be in the Danger Shop, where we can do more practical stuff, but we have a reason to be at real computers today.

"But first, it's the traditional introduction week. I just want to go around and have you give me your name and when or where you're from, along with how much experience you have. I just want to know where we're starting. Who wants to go first?"

Name, where you're from, and what computer experience you have!

"I'm Paris Geller, I'm from Stamford, Connecticut, and I've been using a computer since my dad brought one home from the office when I was in third grade. MS Paint was my favorite. And Minesweeper."

"Solid choices," Kitty said approvingly. "So you're from recent times then."

Paris nodded. "Back from when MySpace is still a thing and George W. Bush is the worst person we'd ever elect president."

"I'm Eric Bittle, from Madison, Georgia, and... I run a vlog? So I know my way around Premiere, at least."

"Oh cool," Kitty said. "What's your vlog about? Anything you're comfortable talking about?"

"It'd have to be, or I wouldn't have much to vlog about, wouldn't I?" Eric joked. "Mostly it's recipes. Sometimes I film stuff that happens around here, and I'm pretty sure most of my followers think I'm some sort of, amateur special effects artist or something."

"I'm Khadgar, I'm from a place called Azeroth, and we don't have anything like computers there," he said. "From working in the library, I've picked up how to turn a computer on, and how to ask Google a question, but that's about it."

He was definitely one of those people who asked Google things with full sentences and proper capitalization. Sorry Kitty, he was going to need some help.

"I love a challenge," Kitty smiled. "Ask all the questions you want, I'll get you up to speed."

She might make it a mission.

Once introductions had finished, Kitty said, "So you're here because today you're going to build your own websites. There are services that will either do it for you, or give you the tools to build your own, for a fee. You're going to get to use a free trial, and if you want to keep it going after that ends, feel free. You can make the site on whatever you want. Promote yourself if that's your thing, use it for your art or dedicate it to a TV show you like... It's up to you. If you need any help, I'm right here."

Khadgar considered himself to be fairly brave, which was why he was refusing to look nervous as he got on the computer. He wasn't sure what to make a site about, so he started with just trying to make a site that actually worked, and didn't make the computer implode or something.

No seriously she was so glad to be back at this job this semester.
