Ahsoka wasn't so much behind the collections desk today as on it. Meditating.

Look, she'd had some strange and unsettling dreams last night involving pirates, bathhouses, and fighting with towels, so meditation. All the meditation.

And maybe a cold shower, or quick visit to Hoth.

Actual mediation, not napping like some previous aides, Face.

Yeah, it looked like napping to Rhys. Because he worked corporate long enough to learn how to sleep while looking like he was working at his desk.

"Do you need coffee or something?"

Ahsoka was not napping. Napping might have led to more dreams.

"I've already had caf today," she said without opening her eyes. Of course, caf didn't exactly help with the being calm thing.

Well, what good were magic Jedi powers if they couldn't stop weird dreams?

"And you're still tired?"

Sometimes magic Jedi powers gave you the weird dreams, though she should probably be grateful that unlike last time no version of Anakin had a starring role. There hadn't been enough meditation in the galaxy for that.

"I'm not tired, I'm meditating."

...well, that would indeed end in tears.

"Which is basically napping." Said the guy who had never meditated in his life.

Ahsoka cracked an eyelid. "They're really not."

Awww, she learned so well from Anakin. Repress everything until you go a little nuts.

"Sorta is."

It was a brilliant way of dealing with things, that absolutely nothing could go wrong with.

"I think I'd know the difference." She'd done a lot of both in her time.

His expression was basically 'sure, Jan'.

"Okay, so why are you meditating then?"

This was how people ended up Force pushed off parapets, Rhys.

"To calm and centre the mind." That was a nice vague, technically true answer.

Which he'd fully deserve. But probably somehow survive with a concussion.

"That sounds... fun." It did not in the slightest. This was killing his intense fanboy love of Zer0's mystique.

Feel for the Jedi creche-masters who had to convince Force sensitive younglings it was.

"It's also a way for a Jedi to connect with the Force."

What, a group of small children didn't want to sit still for long periods of time? How weird!

Alcohol was allowed for those teachers, right?

"Are you feeling alll connected then?"

A group of small, telekinetic children at that.

They certainly deserved it.

"Kind of?" It was hard to become one with the Force when you were also trying to repress the sex dreams.

Damn that sexy Force!

Rhys nodded slowly as he let that sink in. "Maybe you should try yoga. I've heard yoga helps a lot."

God, he was such a fucking space yuppie.

Rhys was getting a Look for that.

"Yoga is meditation."

"It is?" Oh god, why, Rhys? "My ex-girlfriend did it a lot."

"You had a girlfriend?"

Way harsh, Ahsoka.

Well. It was Rhys, so a bit called for. Not that he'd agree with that.

"Yes, I had a girlfriend. I've had several girlfriends."

Okay, that last part was pushing it.

Ahsoka's raised brow said it all.

"Oh, shut up," he muttered.

"I didn't say anything."

Ahsoka, you were being very judgemental for someone who'd never had one to begin with.

"Shouldn't you be meditating?" he whined maturely.

This was much more effective at distracting her!

"Can't talk and meditate at the same time."

"I think your Force... Thing is more important than my lovelife." Lack thereof.

"Maybe teh Force thinks your lovelife is important."

No, the Force did not care about Rhys's lovelife. At all.

Now it was time for Rhys to return that look of flat disbelief.

"The ways of the Force are sometimes unknowable," Ahsoka replied serenely.

Not that unknowable.

"Is the Force also full of bullshit?" He was asking the real questions here.

"So you've had a class with Master Kenobi, then?"

And Rhys had to laugh at that like the giant nerd he was. "No, but I interned in public relations for a year."

HE'D SEEN SOME THINGS, MAN.

Ahsoka made a face. "Ugh, politics."

"Business," he corrected. "Which involves slightly fewer sex scandals."

"They're not as far apart as you'd think." What with the Trade Federation and Banking Clan doing their best to profit off both sides of the war.

That sounded like literally every major company back home.

"I said slightly."

If he's around.
