Library, Wednesday
The books themselves seemed to be fairly well-behaved today in the library. It was the Gem who was acting a bit oddly. One minute she'd be following something around curiously, and then, at the drop of a hat, she'd turn on it and start terrorising it with her teeth.
The books were hiding from her, honestly. Which was an interesting feat in a room that was more book than anything else. But the way she was just hunkering behind the desk come early afternoon, ominously bathed in shadows, was just too much for any one library to deal with today. So the books were noping out on this one and not a single person could blame them.
Give her ten minutes and she'd be up on the desk and singing or something.
[OOC: This event is the event that I have always needed in my heart of hearts. Open, OCD-free, and spamming that random icon button for all it's worth today!]

Inexpicably, there was a table with a clouche in front of her, and she pulled up the dome to reveal....
"Tacos! I made them myself."
Okay, what. The. HELL. A small part of Summer's brain was starting to think something seriously weird was up, because now things were just getting silly.

"I don't know what tacos are, either!"
And this was a disaster!
Not that she couldn't just look at the tacos to find out, true enough, but at the moment she was just so stressed out by her ignorance that she really couldn't even muster that much.

"Meat and cheese and salsa wrapped deliciously in a tortilla. Just try some."
Only when Summer went to try some herself, she found the tacos had become something else.
"Uh, never mind. This is actually breakfast. And not breakfast tacos, though those are also delicious."

Well. Some could. Generally the ones who could shapeshift a digestive system for themselves.
Peridot was not one of those Gems.

She wasn't going to let cranky pants over here ruin her very persistent random breakfast, though.

Please hold, Summer. Apparently Peridot was on a spaceship and was in pilot mode, now.
"I--"
Why there was a spaceship in the library was anybody's best guess. Unless they were both out in space somewhere. Peridot paused for a moment, mentally re-adjusting to check the controls.
"... I guess I'm driving the library. You go ahead and eat your breakfast."
Fandom, why did you have to be like this?

She hesitated before kind of hedging, "That was weird, right?"
Pick any part of it, Summer. Go on.

Where those fluttering eyelashes? MAAAYBE.

Peridot looked up at Summer at that, eyes wide.
"They are?" She paused, and then added, hesitantly, "You do?"
Was... was the human flirting with her?

The jury was still out on whether or not she'd allow somebody to call her adorable, though.
"That's... a good thing, right?"
no subject
With that, she abruptly, suddenly, heartbreakingly turned to go.

"Humans are so weird."
Said the pot of the kettle.
