Mon Mar. 20 - The librarian is in

Kurt had entered the library early in the morning, after a night of coffee with CJ. He was amazed by the place, especially the "special collections area". He nearly entered that part, but opted not to. Instead he just took the time to wander around, looking at all of the books, and getting a feel for the place.

Mostly he was just happy.

(ooc - Ok, finally Nightcrawler is in the library. Since I don't know the full protocal, Kurt went ahead and opened the library and is just lurking about. Mostly. Anyone want to meet the "fuzzy elf", come on down!)

Kurt turned to the girl as she entered, and took a tentative bow.

"Guten Tag," He said with a smile. "Is there something you're looking for?"

(ooc - since i forgot to put in threads for each period...umm, what period is your visit taking place during?)

Nadia had been in Fandom for long enough that the blue furry creature in front of her really only got the slightest gasp. The fact that he was speaking German actually made her pause slightly longer than the fact that he had a tail.

"I need a book on transforming magic. I think. Are you the new librarian?"

[ooc: should have noted it before, sorry. This would be third period.]

"Ja, Fraulein," Kurt bowed. "I am Kurt Wagner, formerly of the Munich Circus. And what's your name?"

He smiled as he turned slightly away to peer at the shelves of books before peering back at her.

"Transforming magic? Und what are you transforming?"

(occ - thanks :) )

"Nadia Santos," Nadia decided she rather liked this new librarian. "I accidentally turned my boss into a tree last night, and I need to find out how to turn him back."

[ooc: for purposes of this mini-plot, she's not going to find the information she needs. Though she'll possibly find all kinds of other crazy info. . . .]

"It's a pleasure," He grinned. "Now let's see what we can do to help you find this book. You turned him into a tree, ach...und I thought I had it bad."

"It was completely and totally an accident. I don't even know how I did it." Nadia shrugged. "But that's Fandom. Things like that just seem to happen." She tilted her head. "How do you have it bad?"

Kurt held up his hands, splaying apart the two fingers and one thumb.

"Outside of the obvious blue fuzz?" He tried to be flippiant. "Do you know how hard it is to find gloves that fit?"

"So, you work magic? You are a hexe? A witch?"

"Really? I have a friend--" she nearly choked on the word. Was Victor really going to be her friend any more? "--who's green, and he doesn't seem bothered by it."

She shook her head. "And, no. As far as I know, I never made any magic before last night."

Kurt furrowed his brows. CJ had told him that odd things happened in this town, and as such he would have to do as much research as possible.

"Well, I am not fully acquainted with the arcane," He said almost apologetically. "But just last night you worked magic? Let me ask, are you sure it was magic and not an emerging talent?" He tried to consider how to word this next part. "An emerging mutant gift even?"

Nadia frowned. "I don't know if I would call accidentally turning people into trees a 'gift'. And I don't think we have any mutants in my . . ." what had Xander called it? "In my dimension."

"In your dimension?" Kurt's eyes widened. "So you are from some other Earth?"

Nadia shrugged again. "I guess. I don't really understand the 'dimension' thing. Maybe there are mutants, but no one knows about them?"

Kurt nodded as he mulled this over. He thumbed through the card catalog for several seconds.

"It looks like we have quite a number of books on magic, R13-R15." He pointed in the direction of the shelves.

Angela stepped in when she heard this. "Isn't that part of special collections?" she asked. "Nadia needs a note from a teacher if it is."

She wrinkled her nose, apologizing to Kurt. "Sorry. The administration wants us to be really careful with the books about magic."

"As I mentioned, I'm not that familiar with the arcane arts," Kurt demured. "Und since I still have not learned my way fully around the library, perhaps Angela would be better at finding what you need," Kurt smiled as he stepped aside.

Angela smiles gratefully at Kurt and whispered "I'm sorry" before chasing after Nadia.

Nadia looked where he was pointing and nodded. "Thanks, Mr. Wagner." She hurried over to take a look at the books.

Hopefully, she'd find exactly what she needed and wouldn't have to talk to Walter at all.

Angela walked quickly, trying to catch up with Nadia. "What exactly are you looking for?," she asked.

[ooc: saw it, 'sokay, actually, it works perfectly since Nadia shouldn't find anything here]

Nadia took a deep breath. She really didn't want to have to explain this too often. "A spell to turn my boss back into a person instead of an apple tree."

Angela blinked. "The record store guy is an apple tree?" she asked.

Apologetically, she pointed at the shelves Kurt had indicated. "These books are just magical theory, principles, stuff like that. No spells. The books with spells in them are in Special Collections, and you need a teacher's note for that. Sorry."

Nadia's face fell. She closed her eyes, carefully did not give her head a little twitch, and sighed. "Thanks. It was an accident; Walter is supposed to help me figure out what to do, but I thought I'd try here." She opened her eyes and smiled sadly. "I guess I might be back later."

"Talk to Ms. Calendar," Angela recommended. "She knows a lot about magic, I think."

"See you later, Nadia. Sorry about your boss." She managed to refrain herself from pointing out her own last boss had been a orangutan. She guessed a tree would be worse.
