Hannibal's smile today was pleased and anticipatory. "Today we won't be seeing much; there are, after all, other sorts of experiences and other ways to enjoy Earth. Today, we'll be pampering ourselves. And letting others pamper us."

Notice had been sent out before class today that, while getting wet was optional, students might want to consider bringing some manner of swimwear today. And that notice had been given for good reason.

"Looks like Dr. Lecter found us a spa," Kanan said, looking... amused, mostly. "In the... Caribbean? Am I saying that right?"

"You are," Hannibal confirmed. "And since we've been fairly parsimonious so far, we should be able to make up for it today." The school was never going to let him do this again. Except Hannibal.

"Right," Kanan mused, scratching thoughtfully at his beard, "we probably saved them a bit on that trip into space, anyway."

"So I fully expect everybody to have a very good time," Hannibal said. "Whether you prefer a massage, a bath, or simply wandering the lovely treehouse."

It was a thing, apparently.

"A spa in a treehouse," Kanan mused, shaking his head and grinning. "Not making Earth any less cute, Doctor."

In which Kanan once again calls Earth cute.

Because it is. Right up until it isn't.

Today's class is going to be getting pampered however they please at the Sugar Beach Resort in St. Lucia. Get a massage, a manicure, give the yoga a try... whatever you care to do until it's time to get back to the island!

Kaylin was not doing anything that required her to be uncovered. Not a chance.

At some point in the day, though, Hannibal was going to find her.

He smiled as he passed her a piece of paper. "This is the address of a very good dojo; they're teaching the style you were interested in. Your fees have been already paid."

Kaylin stared at the paper and then at him. "You talked to Marcus and got him to agree to it?"

Hannibal raised an eyebrow. "Do I need to? You would be doing this on your own time, at no expense to him."

Kaylin blinked at him. "But how did you get funds cleared? Wait... No expense to him?"

She could be rather slow at times.

"Of course not," Hannibal said. "As this was my suggestion, it seemed only fair." He grinned. "This way, you can surprise him, if you like."

Her eyes widened. "You paid for it? Hannibal!"

She wasn't sure if she should yell at him or thank him. It was an amazing thing, but people didn't just give her things. Not ever. And she was pretty sure it was a lot of money.

Hannibal raised an eyebrow at her, but he was used to Kaylin's lack of tact by now, so it warranted no more than that. "You're welcome. I'm happy to help any student of mine reach their potential."

"Thank you," she said, "Truly. You shouldn't have done that, but I'm very grateful."

And if she watched him a bit carefully to see if he was going to ask anything of her, well, that's just the way it was.

Hannibal respected that. Which was why he was at least partially heading it off.

"In return, you must promise me to do your best, and to use your new skills in any way you can to help make yourself happy."

"I will," she said. "I give you my word as a Hawk."

And winced a little. "Or an almost Hawk. But I swear that my word is good."

It was.

"It's good enough for me," Hannibal said, nodding solemnly. "Enjoy your lessons in good health."

"Oh, I will!" And this time she beamed at him as she assured him.

When they tag in.

Kanan was absolutely going to let himself enjoy this, okay? And he was going to do so by... giving yoga a try.

What? After his conversation with Steve last weekend, he felt weird about potentially losing his shirt around the students. So yoga it was.

Besides, it was kind of familiar, in a weird, extra bendy sort of way. Not quite meditation, but close. Yoga wasn't about to become his great Earth passion or anything, but it was nice enough.

Hannibal was taking full advantage of a deep tissue massage and manicure before swimming.

He really hadn't done this sort of thing in far too long.

I want a spa day.

Only no manicures or people fiddling with my hands and feet because UGH.

AGREED.

I get so weird about people near my feet. I could handle maybe a manicure (though there's little point, because artist ahahaha), but oh god, no, don't touch my feet ever please okay thanks.
