As far as Tseng was concerned, Rufus has been on the island, laying low for the last few weeks. (Since he hadn't shown up on radio at all, but had been answering his phone as if he were being a good little boy.)
Tseng was utterly and completely wrong, of course, but when Rufus' portal dropped him off half an hour before his shift at the library started, Rufus made a detour for a coffee and then, with Dark Nation at his heels, deigned to show is face around the library.
Just keeping up appearances. Occasionally.
He studied his schedule critically after putting away the books that had been dropped off. Dark Nation nosed around happily, greeting books that he'd… made the acquaintance of.
