Judgementally.

She has an itching feeling between her shoulder-blades.

Was it a danger sense? Because the only dangers Rhys brought with him were his poor life choices.

Which, admittedly, could be pretty dangerous. Don't let him near any space stations, Ahsoka. Just don't do it.

"Hey, Ahsoka." Yes, he was eyeing the stacks for any stray animals. What of it?

There were no cows around. Today. That Ahsoka knew of.

"Hey, Rhys." Ahsoka gave him a half wave. "Looking for anything in particular?"

That didn't preclude them lurking around a corner, waiting to attack some unsuspecting person.

Rhys paused because it was like he just realized that people came to the library for the books. That was a thing that people did. Even with access to the internet. "Sure?"

Even space wizards went to libraries for books...they just weren't made of paper.

"That didn't sound very convincing." Don't be mean, Ahsoka.

That sounded fake. Pretty sure those space wizards were too busy repressing their emotions to do anything like that.

"Well. It's true. I want a book. Why else would I be here?"

The answer to that was ~friendship~.

He said that like a library wasn't the perfect place for repression.

"What kind of book?"

Maybe the real library was the friends they made along the way.

Those poor librarians...

"A book on..." Shit, he hadn't thought that far ahead. "...vaults?"

He was from Borderlands. That was possibly a real moral for the end of a story there. Morals as told by Brick.

"Planning on breaking into one?" Ahsoka joked as she started looking through the catalogue.

Ahsoka, when this all ended horribly, it would be your fault.

"Wait, you actually have something here?" Rhys asked, attempted to crane his head to see what she was flipping through.

Let's be honest here, it would really only be a small amount of her fault. Because Rhys brought so much on himself.

But she was meant to be the sensible, responsible one. Never mind her examples named Skywalker and Kenobi.

"There's a whole section on locks, safes, vaults, that kind of thing."

Between those two influences, how was she not infinitely more dramatic?

"Anything for the, uh, the Vault of the Traveler?"

Rhys, that still sounded pretty ominous despite your attempts at being casual.

Currently, untreated PTSD and lack of opportunity.

"I can't see anything specific, but it's not I can check in the books from here."

Ahsoka, no, stop.

That seemed about right.

"That'd be... cool."

Ahsoka, yessss.

She'd eventually be back to a Skywalker level of drama. Eventually.

"It's be a lot more helpful than everything being in print," Ahsoka groused. "You know what system it's supposed to be in, I could try cross-referencing."

Ahsoka this was how people lost limbs, and Rhys was already down one.

He just needed to pass the QTE to keep alive and... most of his limbs intact.

"The systems here are weird," Rhys replied. Because that was too much world building for this game, okay? "Maybe check Eridians?"

"What do you expect, they haven't even managed to get off the one planet?" That wasn't nice, Ahsoka.

"Eridians, Eridians...there's something about a guidebook?"

Rhys shrugged because they were a little primitive here. It was adorable in a way.

"There's a guidebook!?" Rhys asked, a little too loud. Oh god, people would kill to get that back home. Him specifically. Possibly the entire island if they got in the way, actually.

Knowing Rhys's luck it was most likely a tourist guide. "According to the catalogue there is."

...that was true.

But if it ended up like the fake vault key, it would just drag him on some horrible, traumatizing adventure where the real treasure were the friends he made along the way.

And the very real treasure inside the vault. Who didn't want a fancy new gun or sword?

"Can I check it out?"

People who already had laser swords.

"Sure, looks like it's in the travel section." Ahsoka pointed to the relevant set of stacks.

Rhys took off in that direction like it held the secrets to the universe.

And then returned shortly looking disgruntled. "It's just one of Jack's stupid brochures to con people into moving to Pandora."

If he's around.
