Discovering Earth | Friday, period 2
This week, the class wasn't told to meet at the causeway. They were told to meet at the junkyard, where they would find Kanan waiting at the gate, grinning. Oh yeah, he was in a good mood for this one. Could anybody blame him, really?
Hannibal couldn't, and he was rather looking forward to the class. The junkyard was another story, though, and he was doing his best not to get rust on his suit. "Good morning. Today is another of Mr. Jarrus' ideas, though I believe you'll all enjoy it."
Possibly with the exception of Mara, but some things couldn't be helped. Or at least, Hannibal couldn't be bothered to help them.
"You say that like all of my other ideas have left something to be desired," Kanan drawled, rolling his eyes and grinning. "I think most of our trips have been pretty enjoyable so far. These guys keep coming back, anyway."
They needed the grades in order to graduate, Kanan.
Hannibal raised an eyebrow. "I don't believe they have a choice. But no, your other suggestions haven't been terrible," he allowed. "Still, this one is more completely yours. I've had little to do with it."
And yeah, Kanan looked far too proud of himself over it, too.
"So you all know who to blame when we're looking out the window and the ground is nowhere nearby," he said. Bragged, really. "Today, our little bit of Earth discovery is going to be my personal favorite view of any planet. The one you get from space. I have a friend who'll take us up, and the class is small enough that we won't all have to sit on top of one another to be able to enjoy the sights."
Hera came out of the office. "In fact, I'd prefer if you didn't. Distractions while flying are bad." She looked over the students and the other teacher, and nodded to Kanan.
Kanan grinned and nodded back; the grin of a man who clearly lost all common sense when keeping certain company.
"Class, this is Hera, our pilot for the day. Whatever she says goes. This is her ship, and she won't hesitate to blow you out an airlock if you go touching things you aren't supposed to."
... This was probably not true.
Probably. But Hera didn't mind it being said, either. And there was never any accounting for Chopper.
"Thank you," Hannibal said, giving her a little bow. "We appreciate your help with this."
Hera smiled and saluted him, then headed for the ramp and waved the students up. "Cockpit's this way. No touching things, no antagonizing the droid."
"It really doesn't take much to antagonize the droid," Kanan added, helpfully. "Don't poke at him, he has a temper and a built-in stunner."

But the prospect of space had her too distracted to focus much on their guest teacher, and she was off towards the ramp like a shot. This was going to be awesome.
