Tip had already had to say goodbye to the Chief once, in the hospital where he'd actually died. That hadn't made it any easier to say goodbye a second time -- it'd been so nice to get to see him and talk to him for real again -- but it did make her feel like she had less of a right to mope around about it.

So she was doing her best to look totally fine at the library today. She'd grabbed a book by Sherman Alexie to read when things got quiet, and she was doing her best to ignore the entire shelf of grief counseling and self-help books that were gathered around the check out desk, flapping their covers and trying to get her attention.
