Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day

Thankfully, the weather on the island today was fairly nice for the tail end of December, but there was still a medium-sized bonfire going in the middle of the lawn, partly due to tradition and partly due to the potential for shirtlessness (which, Zoe supposed, was also tradition.)

The usual tables were set up with warm foods, nametags, and lists for the new and old folks to find each other. Once everything was set up, it was time to celebrate a new year and the start of a new semester!

[OCD is up! I'm consolidating this down to one post, so bring all your new and old folks over here! Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Those poor, poor cowboys. Nathan had only met the one, and he actually almost felt bad about just how in over his head Goodnight probably was around here.

He'd feel less guilty about it if the man hadn't apparently been shot to death this morning.

"Then I'll smile and nod while contemplating updating my wardrobe slightly. Eventually."

There had been Armani his last time living here. That was also Tony's fault.

"Maybe after your first paycheck," Tony suggested. Because Tony couldn't afford Armani right now.

That was fine, really. Nathan had enough clothes to get him by, and the price tags on the Armani then had been enough to leave his head spinning.

"Not until after then," he agreed, "though the bank here might still have some money in my account from my last time staying on the island. I'll have to add looking into that to my to-do list, as well."

Because having enough money for a damage deposit on an apartment would be great.

Nathan had been fighting zombies since back before fighting zombies was cool.

And... dancing Thriller with them.

It had been a very exciting time.

"They were actually a huge help," Nathan noted. "The downside is that they wanted carte blanche to bite at their leisure for about a week after the fact."

Nathan didn't feel old, beyond the fact that they could measure the years between them in centuries. One century. And some change. But he was wondering if the island's inhabitants had gotten more aggressive in dealing with the gremlin population. Or something.

"But how in the world have you never even seen a gremlin?"

They were the scourge of the island! Just ask any Skywalker!
