Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day

Thankfully, the weather on the island today was fairly nice for the tail end of December, but there was still a medium-sized bonfire going in the middle of the lawn, partly due to tradition and partly due to the potential for shirtlessness (which, Zoe supposed, was also tradition.)

The usual tables were set up with warm foods, nametags, and lists for the new and old folks to find each other. Once everything was set up, it was time to celebrate a new year and the start of a new semester!

[OCD is up! I'm consolidating this down to one post, so bring all your new and old folks over here! Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

So, at least this was weirding him out, too? A lot?

She was pretty sure Fandom was pass/fail and if you lived you passed, but that wouldn't make him flail.

"Are you in my class? Honours grades if you bring me coffee," Sparkle shot back, after a brief few seconds spent squirming and trying to claw himself back to his stride, dammit. "I can do that, now, right? If I have to wear a tie I at least reserve the right to extort my students for caffeine."

"I dunno, what's your class?" she asked, digging in her messenger bag for her wallet with her schedule. "I ain't really looked at it yet. Figured it wouldn't make no sense anyway."

These classes. She'd probably ended up with something like 'skydiving for non-avians' or something.

Or one of those existential fits of panic he'd been having a lot of this year.

Ada squinted at the crumpled paper in her hand. "On Tuesdays?" she asked. "Yeah, I can bring coffee but it's gonna be whatever's in the dorms that I can use in th' coffee maker."

She liked you, Sparkle, she wasn't walking into town and back in January for you.

"Wednesday, isn't it?" Not that it actually mattered all that much to Sparkle, except that now he was going to second-guess himself and show up on both days, and possibly also Monday just to be sure. Because he was freaking out over this. Why was he doing it again? "... And I will so take dorms coffee. I miss the dorms coffee. It was the best shitty coffee I ever had."

He was already pining for his teenage years back, apparently.

"Maybe?" The paper was already pretty crumpled, and bordering on illegible. Ada's care and diligence about her academics was astonishing, really. "Could be a W. I'll check m' email later."

"Whatever day it is, I'll bring you shitty dorm coffee." And probably record the whole class on her phone because she was getting the idea that a freaked-out Sparkle on caffeine was going to be hilarious.

Sparkle was not making little squirmy whimpering sounds already as he resisted the urge to pull out his own phone to double check. Really. Honest.

It was a near thing, anyway.
