"In any case, better you than his psychopathic girlfriend," Autolycus shuddered. "The less I have to do with her the happier I am."

"Callisto?" Janet shook her head. "She's not psychopathic. A little intense, sure, but not nuts."

"Kid," Autolycus, condescending, never. "If you'd heard half the stories I've heard about that little blonde fruitcake, you'd have made for the hills by now. Just be glad she isn't throwing fireballs everywhere."

Janet glared at Autolycus. "I don't tend to believe rumors without having some firsthand knowledge. Do you actually know if any of these rumors are true?"

Autolycus did not meep. At all. "My knowledge comes from an unimpeachable source, who is not biased in the least by the fact Callisto killed her husband, bonded with her demon-spawn child, and keeps trying to kill her BFF/soulmate.."

"And my knowledge comes from knowing Callisto directly, rather than from a supposedly 'unimpeachable' source so biased." Janet frowned. "Yes, it's rather obvious that Callisto's got issues, but let's face it, who doesn't? And I've never once seen her lob a fireball."

"Just remember what I said when the burninations start," Autolycus was not intimidated in the slightest by the tiny redhead. Really. "Now, kid, unless you have anything else you'd like to correct me on. I believe we're finished here."

"I strongly doubt there's going to be any Callisto-initiated burnination," said Janet, crankily wondering when 'burnination' entered her vocabulary. "And since you're being too closed-minded to entertain the option that she might not be a complete psychopath, then you're correct. We are finished here."

She turned and stormed out of the room. In a short, cranky, redheaded kind of way.
