"Yes, And:" Improv Theatre and You, Wednesday, Period One
Jono only looked mildly peevish today, thanks to a headache he'd woken up with that morning that didn't seem at all inclined to leave him be, no matter how much he tried to just reason with it. He clearly wasn't a fan.
He also had a pair of newsboy hats with him, one in each hand. This presumably had something to do with today's activity. Presumably.
//Fairly straightforward one today,// he shared. //Pair off, play out any bloody scene you choose, and the aim of the game is to take the other player's hat off his head. You need to find a way to justify it within the scene you're playing, like perhaps there's a wasp in the room and you want to grab for it to swat the thing. The other player will have to justify why they can't give up their hat for the cause, as well. Basically, any move to take or keep your hat will need to make sense in the scene you're playing. Now, grab a hat, pair off, and go.//
Hats was a nice, straightforward game. Today was a good day for straightforward. If anyone needed Jono, he'd be sitting down in the theatre seating, more or less paying attention. With his eyes closed.

Re: Talk to Jono
"Nii." The small demon jumped from his perch on her shoulder to the floor and from it's belly produced a small branch (http://ic.pics.livejournal.com/greenexorcist/77991553/60378/60378_900.jpg). "Niiii!"
"Ah! That's right! I need my bag for this! Be right back!" Shiemi ran off for a moment to fetch her bookbag, leaving Nii with her Sensei, the branch still sticking from the smiling Nii's belly.
Re: Talk to Jono
//Ah... hello?//
He was certainly small. And enthusiastic. With a stick growing out of him.
Re: Talk to Jono
Which was pretty much him saying, 'Yo' and "Nice to meetcha', by the way. Could Jono speak Greenman? Did demons have thoughts that could be read? Well, who knows. But at least Nii-chan had a cute friendly smile and smelled like fresh dewy moss?
Re: Talk to Jono
Feeling a little silly, he waved back.
Re: Talk to Jono
And it made Nii-chan's smile even brighter. He didn't register the man as a demon but that was okay; his mistress knew good humans.
And as Nii-chan was about to launch into a self introduction, Shiemi returned. Her school bag was open and she was rifling through it as she ran. "Nii-chan. Did I not bring my mortar?" She cried, a little put out. "How can I become a Doctor if I always forget my tools?"
Re: Talk to Jono
//You know, I don't think most doctors carry their medical equipment around with them everywhere nowadays,// Jono offered, helpfully. //Don't be too hard on yourself, luv. You're doing fine.//
Re: Talk to Jono
"I should use dried for this, for example. But this should still work." She sliced off a small bit of the inner bark. "If I can get it crushed, of course."
Re: Talk to Jono
Re: Talk to Jono
Re: Talk to Jono
//Sure. It can't dredge up real ingredients out of nothing, but something that can crush ingredients should be easy. A mortar and pestle?//
Re: Talk to Jono
"Nii," suggested Nii-chan, a tug on her blouse.
"Ah. Yes. And maybe a wooden bowl about this big?"
Re: Talk to Jono
... And a couple of random chickens were running around the stage.
Sure.
//How're these?//
Re: Talk to Jono
Nii-chan squiggled his way into her bag for a handkerchief and then began tidying up the remaining shavings into it. "Nii?" He asked, as he moved about.
"We can do that in the room. I'm sure Margaery won't mind," Shiemi nodded and then paused to lift the mixture to her nose. A whiff... "Done!" She looked up at her teacher. "Do you mind if I touch your forehead, or would you rather do it yourself?"
Re: Talk to Jono
He had plenty of experience with balms and salves the the like, since it was basically all he could use, but it didn't hurt to ask to be sure.
Re: Talk to Jono
"Let it sit, though," she admonished gently. "You can massage your skin but don't rub in the paste. You want the heat to work, too." She barely held back from saying, 'like a compost heap'. You're welcome.
Re: Talk to Jono
//I can do that, then,// he replied, accepting the mixture with a little nod of thanks and, after a moment taken to look thoughtfully at the paste, shrugging and smearing it over his forehead. //That's actually rather straightforward. I appreciate that.//
Re: Talk to Jono
She pouted. "I'll look up stronger topicals in my room. And... can you smell things?"
Re: Talk to Jono
//Not as well as most might. It depends on how strong the smell is, really. And once it gets too strong, I have to tone it back anyway, or my fiance with the nose like a bloodhound'll have me sleeping in one of the space rooms.//
Because of course 'I can't actually inhale' Starsmore was engaged to 'I can literally smell your fear' Lecter.
Re: Talk to Jono
Be careful going home smelling like food, Jono."Then oils and herb sachets are not a good idea." Shiemi sagged a little. "I'll have to study really hard and find more things that will work."
Re: Talk to Jono
He was basically walking BBQ already!//For the time being, though, I appreciate this,// Jono said, gesturing encouragingly to the glob on his face. //It's helping already, I can feel a difference. Thank you, Shiemi.//
