"If you're from this planet--not even necessarily from this country--you've heard about the presidential election happening next week," Anakin began. "If you've been in my house, you've been hearing about it for two years and Tuesday cannot come soon enough."

"This election has brought out more than its fair share of ethical dilemmas," Obi-Wan said. (To put it mildly.) "We felt that perhaps it might be... productive if we took some time to dive into these, by tasking you with finding an ethical dilemma and arguing for or against it. You will have one week to prepare."

Anakin nodded. "And since the election will be over this time next week, you will hopefully be able to give it your full-throated and honest opinion without having to worry about possible retaliation from a weird skinned madman."

And Anakin knew from weird skinned madmen.

"This is why we are in the computer lab," Obi-Wan finished. "Please find a partner, or research on your own if you please. We will be here for questions."

Which Anakin would probably just pass to Rory.

Which Anakin would definitely just pass to Rory. Ethically.

Considering Peridot's less than exemplary understanding of humans in the first place, this was going to be... interesting.

She frowned, not entirely sure what to make of the assignment in general, before settling on, "What's an election?"

"In a democratic form of government, several people at a time run for leadership roles, and the population goes out and picks one," he explained.

Lucille hadn't really bothered about current politics. She also wasn't very good at using computers, but managed to find google and search for 'wired skinned madman', which made her none the wiser.
