Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

So, the heat meant that many of the tables and chairs had been set up in the shade, and someone had found outdoor table umbrellas in blue and gold, god help us all. But hey, a little heat never hurt anyone who wasn't a vampire, right?

Ahem. The picnic was open for warm, sunny business.

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Because what Negasonic wanted more than anything else at the moment was a short Japanese girl in a bikini top and cutoff shorts who looked absolutely determined to be friends.

"Welcome to Fandom!" Ringo beamed and stuck out her hand. "I'm Ringo."

Someone wasn't really good at picking up on a certain class of social cues. Like "go away".

Ringo seemed undeterred, continuing to hold her hand out stubbornly. "What about you?"

She sighed; took the hand and shook it. "Negasonic Teenage Warhead."

Yeah. Seriously. Actually, by now, there were probably enough people on the island who Ringo annoyed by being "friendly" when they wanted her to go away that they could form a club.

Ringo seemed to take the name in stride.

"Negasonic Teenage Warehead," Ringo repeated carefully, then nodded. "Should I call you Negasonic, or Warhead?" She was guessing the former, but it was possible that it was a Japanese-style name.

"Negasonic is fine," she replied. "What are you? The official welcoming committee?"

Ringo laughed. "Nothing official about me." She shrugged. "I just like meeting new people."

Wasn't that awesome?

It was possible that Ringo was misreading this particular situation.

"Wait," Ringo said, stopping just as she'd taken a step in that direction. "Is there something wrong with him?"
