Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

So, the heat meant that many of the tables and chairs had been set up in the shade, and someone had found outdoor table umbrellas in blue and gold, god help us all. But hey, a little heat never hurt anyone who wasn't a vampire, right?

Ahem. The picnic was open for warm, sunny business.

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Blue, apparently sensing her own antisocial kind, had sort of wandered into Negasonic's zone. If the other girl looked up from her phone or whatever, she might say hi, but otherwise she was content to eat her frozen yogurt in silence.

Negasonic did look up at one point and made eye contact with the girl. At which point Negasonic felt that she should make some type of effort for socializing yet again.

"Hey."

Okay, it wasn't much but it was almost friendly.

"Hey," Blue said back.

She should probably, like, introduce herself or something. "I'm Blue."

See? She could totally socialize. Sort of.

Yeah. Introductions were probably appropriate at this level of somewhat anti-social socialization.

"Negasonic Teenage Warhead," she replied looking up from her phone and giving the girl her full attention. And also to see how she'd react at the name.

Blue's name was Blue, and she'd been at Fandom High for a while now, so...

"So do you prefer the whole thing or is like 'Warhead' okay?"

"Negasonic's fine," she said with a shrug before hitting an awkward pause. "You new too?"

"No, I just went home for the summer, I was here last year," Blue said. She should probably offer some sort of information about the school here, but eh. Negasonic would figure it out soon enough.

Wait, she had another question. "So do you have to change your name when you turn twenty?"

Okay. That fully got her attention. "Uh. No. Why? That some bizarre rule they have here?"

"No, I just figured, because you wouldn't be a teenager any more? But I'm not actually blue, either, so it was a stupid question anyway." Her aura was blue, but that was beside the point.

"It's from a song I like," she said with a shrug. "I'll deal with that when I get that old."

That was eons away after all.

"Yeah, you've got plenty of time," Blue said, also with a shrug.

So...yeah.

"How'd you get the name Blue? Family name?" She asked after moment two.
