Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

It may have just been a coincidence that the weather was sunny now that Fandom was back home in Maryland, but no one was going to complain.

Okay, maybe they were going to complain a little since the sun meant it was in the high 90s 32C outside, but that just meant there was a good excuse for all the ice cream on the buffet table of picnic food.

There was the usual second table set up as well, stacked with nametags and lists to help folks locate their siblings and roommates. Once the chairs were set up and the tables were glittered, it was time to welcome the new folks and start a new semester!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Negasonic took a half step back as if to avoid the cheer overload. It wasn't bad just that Negasonic wasn't prepared for it. "It was fine," she said slowly. "Took the bus. It was kinda weird."

"The bus ride is always at least a little awful, especially if they let someone drive that doesn't do it very often," Kira said. "If you have any questions about this place, I can probably help you. I've been here for two years now, I'm finishing up school this year." After a moment, she added, "Were you told a lot about the school?"

"No," she said scowling a bit at that. "Though the bus driver was fine. His friend seemed to know good places to bury dead bodies though."

She shrugged that off.

"The students were the weird part though. One guy is a stuck up King. Another guy had no arm and was having a nervous breakdown. And some other chick was royalty."

"Ooh royalty. They'll be fun to talk to in class," Kira said, laughing softly. "Everyone's a little weird, but our weirds all kind of blend together. Everyone works pretty hard to get along as much as possible, and it works."
