When students arrived for class, right as they came in the door was a table with bowls filled with tiny packets of lube, male and female condoms, dental dams, and a shoebox with an opening cut in the top and 'QUESTIONS' written all over it.

The usual desks and chairs set-up was missing, leaving only sofas, comfy chairs, and beanbags for people to grab. And, of course, two very mis-matched teachers chilling at the front of the room.

John was still not sure how he'd been talked into this. He was just going to blame the Moose.

Even if John wasn’t at ease, Didi was. She rose from her own comfy chair to offer a cheerful wave of greeting once all the students were gathered.

“Hey, I’m Didi,” she said. “That’s Constantine. You get to hear us talk about sex for the next two months.”

Which was obviously going to be so much fun, right, John? She smirked at him slightly but kept talking.

“I can’t speak for him, but for me, the big thing I want you to get out of this class is that sex is natural and can be a lot of fun -- but there are things you should learn before you fall into bed with anybody, like what it means to consent, and how you can have your fun and not get sick, pregnant or both.

“Also, it’s important to remember that people are different.I know some of you probably have had a lot of sex already, and some of you might not even be sure you want to ever have it at all. And you know what? That’s all totally fine. Don’t be jerks to each other about anything anyone says here.”

It was going to be great. At least he didn't have to pretend this class had any academic value whatsoever. "Pretty much what Dee said," he said easily, leaning against the wall with his hands shoved in the pockets of his trenchcoat. "We even got ourselves an anonymous question box, if you got something you need answered and don't want to ask in front of your classmates, and the stuff on the table's free. Grab a handful every damn week if you want, or never touch it. Our goal is to get you up to speed for what's going on with current concepts of gender, sex, and culture in two months, and what you choose to do with that information is up to you."

“So now that we’re through the basics about what this class even is, it’s time for introductions,” Didi added. “Names, grades, and what you’re hoping to get from class. And if there’s anything else you feel we should know about you so you understand where you’re coming from, you can say it during the introduction or let one of us know after class.”

"And trust me, Dee and I aren't going to freak out at questions, no matter how weird you might think it is, and we're both pretty hard to shock." John added dryly. "She's seen it all, and if it's stupid, I've probably done it."

“Twice,” Didi said dryly. “And if not him, one of my siblings.”

There was... really no way for John to argue with that, so he just shrugged, rather unrepentant. "You heard the lady," he said, randomly jabbing a finger in the random direction of a student. "You. Start talking."

Ahsoka was trying very hard not to sink down into her seat. What sexual education there was among the Jedi tended to be very biology based (with a side order of 'try not to have it' and 'ask your Master', which, Anakin).

Dante did not seem particularly thrown about anything about the lecture. But he was happy to snag some free supplies, actually.

Look, there was gonna be a party later.

Ugh. Why was Dante in this class? Didn't he, like, know all this stuff already?

Ringo shot him a glare and then looked away.

Dante shot her a funny little side-eyed look in return, then leaned further back.

He mostly picked his classes based on what seemed like the most fun to troll. Plus, free condoms.

So Tip did a fair amount of staring at that table full of . . . goodies? . . . on her way into class. Enough that she probably managed to block at least one person's way before she finally got over herself and went all the way into the room.

She'd be grabbing a little packet of lube on her way out, if she thought she could do it without anyone noticing.

Ringo actually bumped into Tip because she was also sort of staring, rather than paying attention to anything around her.

"Oh, um, sorry." She sounded distracted. "That's a lot of, um." Yep. A lot of um.

"Sorry," Tip said back automatically. And, well, she was the one in the way. "It is. A lot." She smiled awkwardly at Ringo. It came out more like a grimace. "Did you know they made them for girls?" she whispered.

Ringo shook her head. "No. Um. Is that what those are?" Ringo didn't even recognize half the stuff on the table.

Tip picked up a little packet that said "female condom" on it by one corner, and then dropped it. "It seems to think so, anyway."

See this? This was precisely why Tip was in this class. Her school back home barely mentioned that there were male condoms, and then only to talk about how unreliable they were and how abstinence was the only way to not ruin your life with sex.

"Oh."

Ringo blinked, clearly out of her depth.

"I guess at least I'm learning something already?" Though now her brain was trying to imagine what was actually in the package, and how it was supposed to work.

Ringo was not alone in that. Tip was beginning to think she knew more about the Boov reproductive system than her own, and they had seven genders.

"It's nice to know they're not going to just expect us not to do anything," she said. "But -- that seems like a lot. Does it seem like a lot to you?"

How many people were in this class?

"Definitely a lot," Ringo agreed. "And, like I said, I for one don't even know what some of it's for."

And now she was wondering if there was some stuff she didn't want to know.

"I guess we should put in a question?" Tip said. "Or wait and see if they explain it, first."

Ringo glanced speculatively at the question box. "Um. Wouldn't everyone see who put in the question?" That was kind of the same thing as just, you know, asking.

"Is that worse than seeing us standing around staring at it all?" Tip asked with a wry smile.

Ringo hadn't thought about that, and now she was blushing.

"Um? Maybe?" It could still be worse, after all!

Tip snorted. "Alright. We'll see if they explain them, then." She started towards the seats, trying to decide if she'd rather do a couch or a beanbag chair. And wondering why this school was so anti-regular seating. "And then hatch a plot to sneak a question in when no one's looking."

Ringo grinned through her flush. "That'd be a good trick." She glanced around awkwardly. "I sort of get the feeling that I'm going to need it more than once for this class."

"We could learn slight of hand," Tip suggested. "Or -- I have a teleportation thing, but it only works on simple stuff and we'd need to sneak half of it into the box, anyway."

"Hmm." Ringo seemed to be seriously considering that last option. "Do you think they leave the box in here after class?" Maybe they could sneak in!

Well, mark Thorin down as scandalized. Tolkien was a poetic shithead who didn't think of sex beyond awful lineage charts and ~chaste romance~ okay?

Ringo mostly just looked awkward while trying to pay attention and not make it too obvious that she kept glancing at that questions box thoughtfully.

This was perhaps the most useful class that Hyacinthe had signed up for, with or without Messire Delaunay's interference. From what Ada and Dante had told him, sex had changed a lot. Well, not the mechanics of it (thank you, sweet Naamah), but everything surrounding it.

He was here, paying attention, and definitely planning on grabbing several of everything once he found out what they all did.

Mayday wasn't blushing or anything about being here, but she was staring straight ahead and trying to be as professional and scholarly as possible. Because if she didn't, she'd be blushing, guaranteed.
