Study Hall -- Wednesday, September 14th

Welcome to Wednesday's study hall, kids. You'll be happy to know that the gremlin infestation in the study hall has moved on, but unhappy to find out that they've moved onto the cafeteria.

Today's lunch special is chicken. At least, that's what the cafeteria staff told me it was.

A few announcements:

-- An open house for parents is tentatively scheduled for the last weekend in October. All parents, guardians, legal representation, police escorts, and responsible deities may attend, under another RP journal or your own.

-- A suggestion box has been placed outside my office. To the person who already left the note with a question about having as our school mascot a game cock ... no, I don't think Lee has the time for that. Please quit teasing him before I find ~~a fabulous gay teenage-boy orgy in the utility closet~~ a crying Adama in my office. (OOC: For the record, I was kind of thinking the suggestion box could be there for any high-school type stuff we could do. :))

Marty notices River walk into the room and mentally starts going through all the prime numbers he can think of.

Angela walks in and hesitantly takes a seat next to Marty.

"Hi," she says. "Thanks for the gift." She pauses. "Were you, like, talking to Brian Krakow? Because if you weren't, you must be psychic or something."

Marty goes back to the file he read on Angela. Krakow? Ah. Some kind of Nerd.

"Brian? Sorry. I never met the guy. I have a friend who has a friend of a friend who went to uh... Libertine High?"

"Liberty High," Angela says. "And this ... friend of a friend of a friend just, like, knew my favorite song and favorite book?" She shrugs. "But you know that saying about gift horses and mouths? I think I need to pretend the whole thing makes sense, and just thank you."

[[OOC: Excellent research, BTW, especially if you really hadn't seen MSCL as of yesterday.]]

Marty shrugs and offers a silly grin.

"You're welcome. I'm really sorry about the other day. It was..."

Shakes his head.

"Yeah... It was a bad day."

[OOC: My friend of a friend just happens to be Google ]

Angela offers her own silly grin in return.

"I've had a few of those myself. Just ... usually without all the weapons."

She notices that Marty's lip is still scabbed. "Is ... everything going to be all right? Relatively."

Marty shrugs.

"In this place? Who can tell?"

Marty frowns for a second.

"Wait... did you say weapons?"

"Um, yeah. I saw your gun yesterday, when you shot the ... gremlin-thing, and Zero says you held it to her head and then took her croquet mallet Monday night. So ... I'm really hoping this isn't, like, a habit with you. The gun-to-people's-heads thing. Because the ide aof getting shot kind of freaks me out."

Marty curses internally. Yeah. That was a bad night.

"Yeah... that was... uh.. Well I wouldn't do that to you. The shooting or the uh... pointing at head thing. I do that to other- I mean... I don't do that all the time."

Marty starts rubbing his forehead.

"Yeah maybe I should stop talking."

Excuse me Miss? Did you just say this punk pointed a gun at someone's head?

[OOC: Holy CRAP!!!]

[OOC: I loved you in "Better off Dead"]

"Uh..."

Marty makes a break for it.

Lenny yanks out his firearm and holds it in front of Marty.

"Don't even think about it!"

[OOC: You don't mind if we arrest you, do you Marty?]

Mike tackles Marty to the ground and slugs him, knocking him out.

Lenny throws Mike the handcuffs.

"Make sure to read him his rights."

Angela blinks. "Um, well -- I mean, I didn't see- I didn't see anything. Sir. Detective."

Angela gives him a wary look and takes a few seconds to consider. "Um, okay," she says, and pauses again.

"Marty? Could we just, like, start over again? Forget the whole gun thing and go back to, y'know, 'where are you from, what classes are you in, what's your family like, wanna have lunch?' Because I think we sort of skipped that part, and this might get less weird if we went back to it."

[OOC: That was me. Sorry.]

"I'd like that. I really would."

"But I just got arrested in a separate thread."

[OOC: I'm sorry. Our "relationship" seems to be a victim of bad timing]

[OOC: Nah, it's funny. I have no idea whatsoever how to salvage the relationship save making Angela an amnesia victim, mind, but it's funny nonetheless.]

[OOC: I have an idea. I have to go offline... but check your voicemail later.]

River absent-mindedly catches herself tapping prime-number sequences on the lab desktop for no reason she can puzzle out, but any potential source for the strange patterns she's sensing is, at the moment, drowned out by Lee Adama's very noisy angsty thoughts.
