Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

Gosh, the summer picnic was so much nicer--and warmer--than the spring one. There were tables and chairs set up in the sun and the shade, and more than enough food for everyone. Hopefully, everyone was up for socializing for a while!

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Hannibal chuckled. "I assure you, I've no wish to forget you at all. Nor, I imagine, has Karla."

"Really?" Kaylin said. "I mean, I'm glad about that, but it always surprises me when teachers don't really dislike me."

Hannibal gestured at the food. "I don't feed people I dislike like this."

He usually fed them their own body parts instead.

Kaylin laughed and blushed a little. "I ate practically all of your food. I'm sorry."

Hannibal grinned back. "I gave it to you, didn't I?" He took the last few sandwiches out and wrapped them up neatly in the butcher paper they'd all been wrapped in, then handed her the packet. "For later."

Kaylin thought briefly about protesting, but they were really great sandwiches and she didn't really want to. So she didn't.

"Thanks," she said. "You always seem to be feeding me. Not that I'm complaining, but i do feed myself. When I think of it at least. It's easy here where there's always food around."

"I enjoy feeding people. And this is one less meal to have to remember."

He gave her a kind but serious look. "Just because you can eat anything, doesn't mean you shouldn't have food worth enjoying."

"I always enjoy your food," Kaylin assured him. Well, except for the weird stuff anyway. "So, you can pretty much feed me any time you want."

"I'm pleased to hear it," Hannibal answered gravely, though there was an amused glint in his eyes. "I should hate to have to chase you down with food."

"Pretty sure I can outrun you," Kaylin said with a grin, "Though it would look pretty funny, you running after me with a big tray of food. And then I'd have to pretend to trip or something so I could save face and still get to eat your food."

Hannibal laughed. "And I would have to avoid tripping over you and letting the ground eat it instead."

"Easier to just let you feed me and admit how much I like it," Kaylin said with a grin. "Save us both a lot of bruises."

"I suppose we'll simply have to manage." Hannibal smirked. "It's a terrible hardship, I'm sure."
