Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

Gosh, the summer picnic was so much nicer--and warmer--than the spring one. There were tables and chairs set up in the sun and the shade, and more than enough food for everyone. Hopefully, everyone was up for socializing for a while!

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Steven joined in the laughing. "Yeah, next time," he said. "Sure is a big picnic, huh? This is really not like how Connie had described school to me."

"If Connie's schools are anything like mine used to be, that's because her's isn't all that much like this, either," Tip said. "But maybe that's because it's summer. And in space."

"Oh, right," Steven said, looking up again. "That was one of the weirder things."

Said the boy with the gem-for-a-belly-button.

"You think the school is always in space?"

"I guess it's not? One of the people I talked to said that part's new. But they're all really chill about it, so maybe it does other weird things, too."

"Space is pretty cool," Steven said with a nod. "So I guess there are way worse things that could be going on. Like... no donuts. That would be bad."

Tip smiled. It was hard no to, around Steven. "With this many humans running around, I think donuts are probably a guarantee," she said. "But if there's no donut shop, I bet we could look up how to make them for ourselves."

"I've never made my own donuts before!" Steven said, super pumped about that idea. "I always just had to go see Lars and Sadie at the Big Donut back in Beach City. I spend a lot of time there. Or, spent I guess."

"Well, that's what school's about, isn't it? Learning new things."

"And making new friends?" Steven said, grinning at Tip.

"And making new friends," Tip agreed. Then, after a moment. "My friends back home usually call me 'Tip'. So, you know, if you want something shorter than 'Gratuity'."

"Oh, okay," Steven said. "Tip it is. People just call me Steven. The only smaller way to say that is Steve and..."

Steven made a face.

"Steven it is. It's no good calling people by a name they don't like."
