Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

Gosh, the summer picnic was so much nicer--and warmer--than the spring one. There were tables and chairs set up in the sun and the shade, and more than enough food for everyone. Hopefully, everyone was up for socializing for a while!

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Feel free to try the details," Dante said, holding it up for her. "Unless you're allergic to cows, I guess."

A Togrutan with a meat allergy would be very unfortunate indeed. She took the burger and sniffed it. It smelled tasty at least. "Are they like nerf?"

Dante frowned. "Nerf?" he said, leaning back until he was leaning against the table. "No, it's edible."

"You know, big, hairy, got horns, smell terrible, taste delicious," Ahsoka said before taking an experimental bit of the burger. Oh, hey, these were good. "Nerf."

"Thought that was the stuff some toys are made of," Dante said, crossing his arms. "But that sounds pretty much like a cow, sure. Where you from?"

She was lucky Alana had more or less given him a crash course in ~~banging~~ hanging out with an alien.

"Some people make toys from the wool, but you'd have to be pretty desperate to try eating that," Ahsoka said. "Coruscant, but I was born on Shili."

That probably didn't help Dante any.

"Those are... definitely some places I have never heard of," Dante said, but he was grinning again. "I'm still brushing up on my alien planets."

"Shili's my people's homeworld," Ahsoka explained. "Coruscant is the seat f the Re- galactic government."

"You've got a government for the whole galaxy?" Dante asked, snagging another burger up off the buffet while he was there. "And here we can barely manage the state of Maryland."

"Technically it's not really the whole galaxy, and it's debatable how well it actually works." All things considered.

"Not so different, then," Dante said. But eh, he wasn't going to sit here and talk politics. "So..." He leaned over to peer at her nametag. "...Ahsoka, how's this not-so-galactic planet treating you so far?"

Ahahahahahaha. Ha.

"It's been unexpected."

Someone was channelling their inner Kenobi.

"That's definitely one word for the island," Dante said, taking a bite of his burger.

'Traumatising' would be another.

"Hopefully it'll run out of surprises soon." You hadn't even found out about Anakin's grandchildren yet, Ahsoka.

Never mind the great-grandchild currently toddling around the picnic yelling about cupcakes.

"Yeah, I can't promise you that," Dante said, firing off a grin. "This place tends to keep packin' em on. But there's some upsides. Like good company."

But Ahsoka liked younglings, so in that case the adorable was going to make up for a lot.

Oh, Smooth, Dante, especially considering who Ahsoka had as an example. "Oh, I don't suppose you'd know where I could find some of that?"

Hey, Dante was not good at subtle, but at least he knew not to try and hit on someone by monologuing about sand.

"Well, I live in Room 322," he said breezily, "Though if that's not your style, she lives in 206."

He nodded towards Isabela ~~because the mun thought she was hilarious~~.

But all the ladies loved it when you talked about their lack of relative coarseness!

"Oh, stars." Ahsoka was pretty sure she'd seen Twi'lek dancers who wore more.

"She's nice," Dante assured her. "Though if you want to know who's cool and has a wearing-pants policy, I know a few more people."

"Pants would be helpful." She wasn't sure her brain could cope with more of that right now.

Dante let out a soft laugh. "Have more food," he said. "Let that brain of yours settle a bit. You'll be fine."

Definitely a 'hit on gently a few more times, see where it goes' case.
