Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

Gosh, the summer picnic was so much nicer--and warmer--than the spring one. There were tables and chairs set up in the sun and the shade, and more than enough food for everyone. Hopefully, everyone was up for socializing for a while!

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Tip waved from where she was sitting with her own plate of food. "Hi. Are you new around here, too?"

The girl had that "wtf is even going on here" look about her.

"Yeah, I just arrived today."

"Me too," Tip said, offering her hand. "I'm Gratuity. Can I take your picture?"

She knew better than to just snap pictures of people without asking, but she really wanted to send pictures of all the non- or not-entire-human people to J.Lo. He was feeling pretty lonely being the only space alien in the US.

She didn't pick up on any malice from the girl, but there was a bounty on Jedi and she was close enough for someone to try their luck.

"Because I think you look cool. And -- also like maybe you're not human?" Tip winced faintly when she said that. If the girl was human she might get really insulted. "And I think my alien friend back home would like to see that he's not as alone as he feels right now."

"I've nver been confused with a human before." If she didn't recognise a Togruta when she saw one, then she probably wasn't from anywhere near the Empire. "Go ahead."

"Thanks!" Tip said, and stepped back to snap the photo. "I've only met a few non-humans before. In my world we've barely managed to get up off the Earth and go exploring, and only two alien races have come to visit." Neither in a terribly friendly manner, either. "It's really cool getting to meet so many new people here."

"Sounds like there's a whole lot of very different around here," Tip said. "What's it like where you're from?"

"Well, for a start there's lots of different races on the planet where I grew up." Though some of the things she'd been hearing about changes the Empire was making...

Humans couldn't even all get along with each other.

Funny she should mention humanity's inability to get along with people...

"I doubt any species has all its members agreeing with each other, except possibly the hive-minded ones. It's not perfect but it generally works more than it doesn't." Generally. "I mean most of the people I've been closest to haven't been Togruta."
