Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

Gosh, the summer picnic was so much nicer--and warmer--than the spring one. There were tables and chairs set up in the sun and the shade, and more than enough food for everyone. Hopefully, everyone was up for socializing for a while!

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Alana's mood was a mix between nostalgia at her very last welcome picnic, and satisfaction that she never had to take another class in her life if she didn't want to.

She arrived for the picnic in a fitted tank top (the better to show off her wings) and immediately heaped a plate high with food. If Fandom was only going to feed her for another few months, she intended to enjoy them.

It took Tip a few glances before she registered that the girl who otherwise looked mostly human also had wings. That were actually attached to her, and not just a costume.

"Hi," she said, waving as she walked up. "I like your wings. Can I take a picture of you?"

"No problem," Alana said easily, and brushed a hand down her front to get rid of any crumbs. "Are you taking pictures of everybody, or just the non-humans?"

"Mostly just the non-humans," Tip admitted. "My best friend back home is the only alien around. I want to show him I'm not ditching to hang out with a totally human crowd."

Admittedly, she hadn't known ahead of time there'd be this many non-humans here. Or any.

"Think it'll help?" Alana wondered, and paused to pose for the camera.

"Not a lot," Tip said, snapping a quickly picture. "He's probably still going to be insufferable at Mom for awhile. But I hope a little bit."

"Oh, he lives with you guys?" Alana wondered. "That's got to be a little weird if he's literally the only alien around."

"He didn't really have anywhere else to go," Tip said. "And we'd gotten really used to each other living in a car for six weeks at the end of the invasion." She was doing that thing where she talked about the Boov invasion like everyone should know about it. It was going to take her a bit to break herself of that habit. "His people invaded our planet. When they left again, he decided he'd rather stay."
