Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Back at home in Maryland, the weather was awful and raining and gross, just like it had been all week. Thankfully, Fandom's current locale was providing the island with much nicer weather to welcome the new students. It was warm, and sunny, and just about everything the administration could ask for on picnic day.

The tables and chairs had been dragged out and set up around the lawn, and there was the usual buffet table of delectable foods, along with the table of nametags and lists to help folks find their siblings and roommates. With everything set up, it was time to welcome the new folks!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Hannibal hid his smirk. "Regrettably not. And you'll find they get everywhere; if you plan on doing anything you would rather the entire island not know of, it's best to bribe the squirrels ahead of time. They prefer rum."

"That is also your prerogative," Hannibal said. He personally wouldn't want that, but if Wade were so inclined, it was his business.

"Have you sorted out your class and accommodations for the term?"

"Yeah, something about music and I'll find place to stay." A beat. "I think I'll make the kids watch Lemonade because Beyonce is a queen."

"There are apartments on the island you can inquire about," Hannibal said. "You'll find that the school pays quite well, and living here is remarkably inexpensive."

Well, for most people. That didn't live in mansions with saunas and heated floors.

"Also, you should be assigned an office in the school building." Hannibal pointed toward it. "If you need any supplies or have administrative questions, you can ask the moose in the office."
