Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I
Back at home in Maryland, the weather was awful and raining and gross, just like it had been all week. Thankfully, Fandom's current locale was providing the island with much nicer weather to welcome the new students. It was warm, and sunny, and just about everything the administration could ask for on picnic day.
The tables and chairs had been dragged out and set up around the lawn, and there was the usual buffet table of delectable foods, along with the table of nametags and lists to help folks find their siblings and roommates. With everything set up, it was time to welcome the new folks!
[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Re: Meet Your Teachers [Summer 2016]
//With the money you've been making at the shop? It's a lovely dress, Alluka, and not a bad thing to be spending your money on, either.//
He approved. He tended to spend his money on music, mostly. At least clothing was practical.

Now if only she'd remember to buy food, she'd be doing pretty well for herself.
"And, and last time I worked I even managed the register without Sparkle's help," she shared. "I'm learning lots!"
... Alluka wasn't actually aware of the fact that, for most people, that was something they picked up faster. Sparkle was pleased with her progress, so she was too.
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Summer 2016]
//It sounds like you are, indeed,// Jono replied, impressed. //At this rate, I might have to try to steal you away from Sparkle and put you to work in the music shop, too.//
Which was probably less exciting than the clothing store, for Alluka, granted.
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Summer 2016]
But she'd be helping Papa. Never underestimate a child's desire to help out.
... Even if they weren't very good at helping all the time.
"Do, do you need help, Papa?"
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Summer 2016]
//Did you want to? I have a few job openings, now that some of my other employees have left. It would involve listening to a lot of music, though.//
Such hardship.
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Summer 2016]
Alluka lived with Mabel, Jono. There was a fair bit of music already.
"Music just means more fun for parties," she said, nodding. Then she hopped a little. "Can I, Papa? Can I help you?"
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Summer 2016]
He'd need to check to make certain, when it came to the rest of his employees. Lottie had had a... Thursday shift? And had Eggsy left after graduating? If so, Monday would likely be free, too.
Jono really needed to get into the shop to talk to his employees more, apparently.
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Summer 2016]
"Sundays are good, Papa! I can do them!" She could do any day but Monday, really. "Does that mean, do I start tomorrow?"
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Summer 2016]
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Summer 2016]
She'd much rather talk to Papa and help him out than make new friends.
"I'll start tomorrow," she said happily. "Thank you so much, Papa! I'll do my best!"
Re: Meet Your Teachers [Summer 2016]
But instead he was here. It seemed like a good trade-off at the time.
