Back in the Danger Shop, though it was set to the standard classroom setting--at least for the moment. "Sup, class," Hardison greeted, not even bothering to hide his smirk. "So, this weekend is prom an' I'd be remiss as hell if I didn't at least try to remind y'all about the wonders of safer sex an' why it's so important. Which bring us to today's lesson: learnin' to care for babies."

That was right, babies. Not even the slightly older children of the weekend that could at least speak and were generally potty-trained.

"Childcare is definitely a useful skill to have; people everywhere are always havin' kids. Knowin' how to take care of one without damage to yourself or the kid is probably one of those marks of a well-rounded person." Even Hardison knew how to take care of an infant, though it had been over a decade since the last time he'd had to. "So today, you get to learn some important tasks of takin' care of babies an' then you can spend the rest of the hour puttin' those newfound skills to use."

At least he wasn't saddling you with a droid-baby? You were welcome, class.

With a touch of a button, the sim changed from a classroom to a nursery filled with cribs. Each crib had two names on it; one name was for the student in charge of that infant, the other was the infant's ~~and was completely moddable~~. Around the nursery were several different stations: a bathtub, a changing table, a rocking chair, even a kitchenette. A video started playing on an empty wall, showing the students how to hold a baby, and as soon as it was over, every baby started crying at once.

You have a whole hour to deal with them. Making them stop crying would probably be ideal.

That's your baby all right. Maybe put all that 'holding a baby' knowledge to the test and pick him or her up? There's probably something wrong, considering the way the baby is crying.

Or maybe you got one that was programmed badly. Who knew!

"Hi there...Cassidy," she said, checking the name on the crib before scooping up the baby, settling it expertly on her hip and doing the 'soothe the baby' bounce that worked so well.

"You got a dry diaper, don't you? Yes you do," she said, patting the baby's butt and making a funny face at the little girl. "Then let's get you fed an' bathed and then a clean diaper for fun, an' if you drink allllll your bottle, we can have some ~~meta for~~ Sesame Street."

Cassidy, for her part, stopped crying and stuck her hand in her hand in her mouth. See, people? Babies weren't scary.

Rey picked up her baby, and had no idea how to hold it. Which was uncomfortable for both her and the kid, who started squirming and crying more, which made Rey more uncomfortable.

"Why do people do this," Rey wondered aloud. "Why."

There's another video on loop at the changing station. Maybe you'll be lucky and that'll stop the baby from crying.

Ever see a person try to change a diaper without looking or touching anything?

She was not at all a squeamish person, but when you consider that the video was the first she'd ever even seen of this, it was not the happiest of experiences.

There's powdered formula, empty bottles and accoutrements, and a pot of water on the stove in the kitchenette. If you've never made formula for a baby and then fed it, this video should help you out. Don't forget to burp!

..The spit-up will go away when the sin ends at least?

"Powdered formula? Really?" Ada said, putting her free hand on her hip and glaring in Mr. Hardison's general direction.

Fine, whatever, it was only a pretend-baby, one bottle of formula at this age wasn't going to kill it.

This was not as bad! These instructions were not scary or gross, and if the baby was eating, then it couldn't yell at her.

And then the spit-up happened.

After an exciting feeding time, followed by obligatory spitting up, the baby is kinda gross and sticky. Time to bathe your baby nice and clean! Babies are slippery, please don't drop yours while watching the video.

Still got time left over? Then it's up to you to keep your baby occupied and happy. Maybe this video will offer some pointers.

The rest of the hour would find Ada and her happy baby watching videos on her phone, or playing peek-a-boo. If she kept turning up the volume on the phone to drown out the music that seemed to be following her around, well, the baby didn't mind.
