Advanced Journalism (Tuesday, March 14 - 2nd period)

Rita smiled a little tiredly, but triumphantly.

1. What are the four basic things you must keep in mind when preparing for an interview?

2. In your opinion, is it more or less difficult to conduct an unbiased interview with someone you know versus someone you do not?

3. Define investigative journalism in your own words.

4. What is a bias? What can we, as people who work in the media, do to counter bias in our own work?

5. Where is Professor Skeeter from?

6. What does she do to students who misbehave in her class?

Since John isn't a cat, he just keeps chewing on Rita's bookshelf. Maybe he can make a hole and get her attention...

Rory poked a hand behind the shelf, hoping John would let her pet him rather than go omgbitey on her fingers.

John stops chewing for a moment and sticks his head out from behind the bookshelf.

Rory winced.

"Want to go scare Professor Skeeter?" she whispered.

It's like Rory's a mind reader because John had been plotting that exact same thing.

So he comes out from behind the bookshelf and tries to look as cute as he can.

Rory was still wincing because wow, that is not an attractive animal.

But she carefully picked him up and gently set him down on Rita's desk.

John lunges because he's an animal and that's what he does. He starts to chew on Rita's shirt.

Rita screamed and flailed, trying to get the creepy icky thing off her.

John's got really ugly and long hands so he has a kung fu grip on Rita's shirt and keeps trying to chew a hole in her shirt.

Consequences!

Rita pulled on his creeptastic little tail and tried to pry him off her. Because ew.

And Rory took a picture.

Several, actually.

John hangs on tight and might actually rip Professor Skeeter's clothes. Hey, if he's ugly, he's taking someone down with him!

Rita finally flailed with her wand.

Ending up with John in her lap.

Were Rita they type to say "WTF," she would.

John realizes he's a boy again about the minute he realizes he's got his hand clutching Professor Skeeter's shirt. And he's in her lap. Almost cuddling.

Oh God.

"Um..."

Rory took another picture and sent all of them to Aeryn.

"Rory," John hisses. But he doesn't move off of Rita's lap. "Professor, you know this was an unfortunate accident, right?"

"Move," Rita said through gritted teeth.

"You're not comfy and cozy? Or should I say you're not comfinated and cozyinated?"

"Move. You're heavy. Probably due to being pudgy."

John scowls at her. "And, from this close, I can see all your wrinkles. You've got crow's feet. I shall call them Telemachus and Ferguson."

"And I suggest you move before I start examining your skin and naming blemishes."

"This doesn't bring back memories of your precious Umberto and when you rocked him to sleep?" John bats his eyelashes at her. "We can re-enact if need be."

"No, because my children are un-pudgy and adorable," Rita said pointedly. "And not irritating."

"You know, your gray hair really accentuates your face," John says, nodding. "And what's that perfume? Is that...Ben Gay?"

"I don't have gray hair. And I'm not wearing pefume. As you evidently aren't, either," she said, wrinkling her nose.
