Practical Phys Ed, Monday, Period 3

"Last week we shot stuff, this week we're throwing stuff," Fred said to kick things off in the Danger Shop. The place looked like the shooting range, but with way more targets, balloons on those targets, and so many things to throw.

"Being able to throw crap is all kinds of useful. First and foremost, maybe you're playing a sport. Odds are, it'll involve throwing a ball at some point. Or you're trying to kill time in a bar, so you're throwing darts." Fred picked up a dart from a table FILLED with things to throw, and he threw it at a target with a balloon at the bullseye. It popped. "No matter what you're throwing, there are three parts to it. First, your grip. Second, your motion. Third, your follow through. Because if you just stop the second the thing is out of your hand, guess what, you threw it wrong. You only stopped because you didn't do things right."

"So, I'm going to run through a good technique for throwing each of the things on the table. Pointy things and balls are going to pop a lot of balloons and maybe penetrate the targets. If anyone wants more specific instruction on any of it..." Fred started to realize that there might be more layers at play than he had really considered before now and maybe it was time for evasive maneuvers. "...talk to Isabela." That's what you had TAs for. To throw under the bus when innuendos started creeping into a class setting.

"Whenever you think you have it figured out, start throwing crap at balloons."

Did Fred sound distracted today? Probably. Were you distracted by his graceful athletic movements while throwing things with flawless technique? Hopefully not. If you were, Coach would be over there, not talking to you.

* Baseballs
* Footballs
* Basketballs
* Dodgeballs
* Medicine Balls (probably not the easiest thing to throw)
* Darts
* Boomerangs
* Throwing Knives
* Throwing Axes
* Shuriken
* And more!

Mod to your heart's content. It's the Danger Shop, nothing bad can happen!

Watch as Fred demonstrates each and every last thing on that table. Especially as he really shows off with the baseball and boomerang. He threw three baseballs, one a fastball, one a curveball, and one eephus (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-SMdTQ0vag) just for fun.

With the boomerang, he was just doing all kinds of crap you couldn't do. The best one was probably when he popped balloons on all four sides of himself in one throw and still caught the boomerang. Show off.

Kathy had been in Fandom long enough to recognize pollen-related jumpiness when it afflicted her. So she was going to just focus on throwing knives, focusing on what Ezra and Eliot had drilled into her.

And tried not to follow that train of thought any further, nope!

Perfect form, perfect form, she could focus on her perfect form.

Alana was all about the throwing knives today. It allowed her to let out her jumpiness, and it was fun.

Rey was young and hadn't exactly had the most experience with what she'd been feeling over the last day, but she could sort of figure that out. Radio had kind of been a giant clue.

So really, she was glad for the opportunity to throw things. She picked the dodgeball to throw against the wall, because it made the most satisfying sound.

Not like that.
