Face had brought his flowers to the library with him today, mostly because he intended to tease Cass if she showed up.

Of course, he was very soon distracted, not least by the fact the books seemed very snuggly today.

Cassandra had received the flowers. She had not been able to stop beaming since she received them, in fact.

... also a great deal of her blood had gone up to her face at some point during the beaming, but she suspected that came from her face doing something it wasn't particularly used to doing.

She was still smiling when she got to the library. "Oh, Garik."

Oh, hey, an armful of girl that was...well, it was always nice, but today it even nicer than usual. "So you got my flowers?"

"They are beautiful," Cassandra said, smiling at him.

She was quite comfortable.

Face's return grin was pretty dorky. "So are you."

Cassandra swatted him in the shoulder. Gently, for once. "Thank you," she said, leaning up to kiss his cheek.

Face beamed at her.

"I should thank you for yours too," he said, trying to steal a proper kiss. Because kissing was astral.

Maker, it was. If Cassandra had been planning to say something in response to his thanks, she immediately forgot about it, sliding her arm around his shoulders and kissing him back with enthusiasm.

Given how Cassandra usually remembered that they were in public first, Face intended on enjoying this while it lasted. Not that he was really thinking about that, because she just smelled really nice today. It must have been the flowers.

Cassandra had more or less forgotten they were in public the moment she stepped inside the library. It was unlikely her usual focus would snap back that quickly.

Especially when kissing him was so nice she was trying to press in closer before she was even aware of the thought.

If he'd been in his proper state of mind, Face might have realised that something wasn't quite right, but as it was, he just focused on how nice it felt holding her like this.

Cassandra sighed, one of her hands going roaming. Her fingers slid over Garik's (nice, strong) shoulders, brushing briefly over the warm skin of his neck before making their way into his hair.

Oh, yes, that was very nice. Face leant back against the desk, his hands smoothing down Cassandra's back.

Feeling daring, Cassandra pulled away from his mouth for a moment, pressing kisses against his jaw and throat.

She'd remember about the in public thing aaaany minute now.

Face groaned softly, tilting his head back.

Then groaned a lot louder and less happily as a book came flying out of the stacks and collided with his head. Luckily it was a softcover.

Cassandra pulled back abruptly. "Garik?!"

Face rubbed the back of his head. "I think we have an audience."

"Ugh," Cassandra growled. "Why must this library be so utterly ridiculous?!"

Yeah, sure. It was the library.

Face, it was a library. Maybe if it was Special Collections.

Cassandra straightened her shirt, glaring at the books at random. "In most circumstances I would say it was unlikely," she said, "But this library is-- Ugh."

Face probably shouldn't have been paying such close attention to her shirt. Probably. "Maybe we should try somewhere more private?"

Cassandra badly wanted to say yes, which surprised her. She cleared her throat. "Is-- it your break?"

"Yes." The actual accuracy of that statement did not matter if there could be more kissing in his future.

She grabbed his wrist abruptly and gave it a tug.
