Celtic Studies (03/13)

Camulus is looking well-rested and very gloaty that people had to be in class this early on a Monday the first day back from break.

"Ah, my dear class. I hope Phoebe took good care of you during my absence. I will offer you an explanation as soon as I have one." He stood up and paced to the board, writing 'Kings Cycle' on the board. "Wednesday we will begin our look at the next cycle of Irish literature, the Kings Cycle. These stories deal with the historical rulers of Ireland - with a definitely helping of myth piled a top." He began writing a list of names and dates on the board, starting at Art mac Cuinn because omgsomanynames and ending with Muircheartach mac Erca which is the best name to say aloud."

When this was finished, he sat back down. "And that is all the real work you have to do today. For the rest of the class . . ." He smirked. "Tell me a story. It could be something you did over break. It could be something you did as a child. It could be one of the stories we told in class. Just tell me a story in true Celtic fashion."

Phoebe waved a hand in the air. "Not a problem A stor," she said with a smile. "I don't tend to eat this early in the day either."

Phoebe sat on the edge of the desk. "Celtic Studies have their project due on the 15th. They were to take one of the stories in the Cycles we have covered and either write a play or a children's version of the story."

She thought for a second. "Everyone did fairly well on their mid-term. Also, they seem to have a slightly better grasp of the stories with the not so happy endings."

Phoebe grinned at him. "I paired up the students and assigned them knights to write essays on. I also had to explain the miscommunication of Lancelot and his orgasms."

Lyta signed in, still trying to recover from the overdose of OMGangst swirling around the previous week.

Macbeth is actually present, despite being somewhat cramped up from being stuffed in a barrel since Wednesday night.

He also smells like Lucky Charms cereal for no apparent reason, and it's evident that this annoys him.

Bel tells a thinly-veiled story about a heroic vampire because hero worship OMG.

Lyta tells the story not unlike Boudicca, of a woman driven by mistreatment and neglect and anger into battle, and eventually emerging victorious over her enemies... but not living to see the efforts of her struggle.

Macbeth tells an epic story about a king who ruled Scotland with a naieve stupidity, and about the brave thane who stood against him, killing him and taking the throne to rule the land in all his wisdom. The story then turns strange, and tapers off with babble about walking trees and a man who wasn't of woman born. There may or may not be grumblings of witches interjected occasionally under his breath.
