Practical Phys Ed, Monday, Period 3

Back in the Danger Shop, but for once, it didn't look like a gym! Instead, it looked like a carnival. More specifically, it looked like the games section of a carnival. "Okay, first off, I know this looks like a carnival. But trust me, it's not. Because this place is programmed to play fair, unlike the real world carnie games this looks like." That was a half truth. The place was programmed to play fair occasionally, when people threw certain things. One of those things was a very specific ball Fred was holding. "In a real carnival, those milk jugs over there are probably glued down. Or those pegs you toss the rings onto have corners the rings can't fit around. They're all scams."

"But maybe, just maybe, you've run across a reputable carnival. And maybe you spent some time in the majors. And maybe..." Fred threw a fastball at the milk jugs, knocking a pyramid of jugs down. It reassembled shortly after. "Sometimes things happen. You've got to be ready for them. And the only way you're ever going to be ready is to put in the reps and make sure you have the skill to take advantage of the opportunity."

"In this case, it means working on your aim. Put in the reps. Develop muscle memory. Learn how to throw crap and who knows, maybe you'll be ready if an opportunity ever comes up to win a game that isn't rigged. If you need any pointers on how to throw, see me."

If anyone wanted to sit and ride next to the girl who looked queasy before she even got on, uh... feel free.
